Want to see more racial tension...

the way you had well spoken argonian and orc shopkeepers in expensive, noble looking clothes always struck me as out of place in Oblivion.

specially since argonians were slaves in MW... makes you think why dont argonians just emigrate to cyrodil and get jobs as shopkeepers.

but yeah I hope some towns even turn you away depending on your race.. or some shopkeepers refuse to trade with you if you are an Orc say... cos an orc killed his brother or something... or that he just hates orc's.

it will go a long way in creating a tense and unforgiving world the first time round... say you are low on supplies and gear.. you stumble into a nearby town but wonder if the townsfolk will like you or not.

have race based quests... ie a group of argonians want to kill a dunmer noble cos his cousen was a slavemaster in morrowind.

I like the idea, especially race related quests, but I don't think it will be in. I think being turned away from a town is a bit much though - I'd rather have it so as people who are more prejudiced would react differently and possibly refuse you service, but not be turned away from a whole town.

Well the reasons Argonians were well off in Cyrodiil is because they aren't slaves in Cyrodiil. Only Morrowind ever enslaved the beast races, and they paid for it when Black Marsh invaded.

Racial tension is probably not the word I'd use because that implies a clear "All members of Race A hate Race B", but there are the occasional racist tendencies in certain NPC's already. I remember talking to one Khajiit in Leyawiin who was discussing an Argonian, and proceeded to comment about how being an Argonian makes you less than Human and far less than Khajiit. Going back to Morrowind, no Dunmer NPC would hold back when referring to you as an Outlander. And speaking of Morrowind, I actually found that one Telvanni wizard woman who was outright sixist to be pretty funny.

I fully expect the dunmer to be very uneasy when around argonians, due to the argonians pushing the dunmer off of Morrowind. I also expect the nords to be not the most friendly people to mer, save for orcs as both are quite fighty.

Also, bumps are not allowed.

You have lots of great ideas Do'tirath, but they're too controversial for popular big games. It's always a risk to have sensitive stuff that would remind people about real world issues.

I think it's unnecessary. The TES games are known for their flexibility anyways-restrictions are generally frowned upon.

So you want more racism in the game. I would like to see better social tensions over all. Rich versus poor, warrior's versus mages, fishermen versus farmers etc. Interracial tensions are fine so long as they aren't too in your face. I don't want to see TES version of the KKK running around.
