I want to smuggle a gun into the casinos : Fallout: New Vegas

Hi,
Ok so I'm ready to go into the Strip and I'm going to send Boone back to Novac and take ED-E and Doctor Arcade Gannon with me to the Strip.
So I want to take a gun with me into the casinos ,a gun not a melee weapon.
I have Lucky pistol from Primm but is it small enough to smuggle into the casino and the 22 with silenter but its kind of big looking.
So whats the best gun to smuggle into the casinos.

I think if you have 50 Sneak you can sneak in a .44, that'll give them a run for their money.

Yeah, if your sneak is high enough, you'll get the option to either hand over all your weapons to the door guard, or 'keep your holdout weapons'. Lucky qualifies as a holdout, I'm pretty sure. Give 'im one for me too, k?

80 sneak its always my favorite skill.

Haven't tried this in all the casino's but in the ultalux they store your weapons in a safe behind the counter, so you can just turn in your weapons, sneak behind the counter and retrieve them again

Depends on what you plan to do inside the casino..personally all I really need is a knife a good stealth kill..steal the guards weapon and work from there

Bring in a 10mm silencer mod.I think you find a 10mm gun in gammorrah.At topps,easy to break into gun locker.But even at low skill you can sneak in the .22,but it isn't that strong of a gun.Also found a sniper rifle in gamorrah (random) so I had a silencer for it with me.Good to carry extras.

If you have Honest Hearts got for the .45 Auto pistol. If you dont I'd reccomend either a 10mm, lucky, or mysterious magnum.

But all I need is chances knife :thumbsup:

A Light Shingin in Darkness is by far the best holdout pistol available. Of course that's my own opinion, but it's backed by the millions of poeple in my head.

I usually use a silenced 10mm pistol as a holdout weapon. People in the casinos usually have no armor or helmets, so a sneak headshot with 10mm HP is a guaranteed kill.

Also, if you sneak-kill the casino greeter who takes away your weapons, you can then go into the casino carrying anything you want. I've never tried it in Gomorrah, but it definitely works in the Ultra-Luxe, which is especially important because of its weapon confiscation bug (even if you leave your companions waiting outside, the Ultra-Luxe STILL takes away any weapons they carry).

I've gone into the Tops woth a .22 pistol three times now by myself and killed Benny and his goons where they stood before plucking one of their .22 SMGs and fighting my way out of the casino.

I love doing that because of the extra dialogue from people.

"Did ya hear there was a shootout at The Tops?"

Makes me smile everytime. :biggrin: :mohawk:

You can get a 22 in regardless of your sneak skill, but if you get it up to 80 then there's a whole list of guns you can sneak in. If I'm not wrong you can get the mysterious magnum in, that'll just about tear through anything you find in any of the casinos.

I am pretty sure I used a silenced 12.7mm SMG as my holdout weapon with 100 sneak. It is pretty much the ultimate close-quarters stealth gun.

Sounds good but wait....if you kill Benny in the casino your going to lose out on a lot of xp points and quests later on.

It's in the possession of a fella who camps under the big billboard north of Novac, across from the ant-filled desert area. Not the one with the raiders who try to ambush you, but the next one up north of that on the freeway.

You can get Lucky in (think it's requirement is 75), and Lucky is probably your best option anyways.

People in the casinos usually have no armor or helmets, so a sneak headshot with 10mm HP is a guaranteed kill.

Don't know if you know, but DT is totaled for all clothing and applied equally across body parts, so an NPC say in power armour with a bare head will still have 20+DT even when shooting the head. That said, headshots do additional damage, which is probably why you're getting kills easily. Also I don't think there's anyone in the casinos with more than a couple of points of DT at the most, so HP ammo is a good choice.

SMGs cannot be holdout weapons.

Sawed-off shotguns can be holdout weapons though. Even without 50 Sneak, I think. Big Boomer isn't, though.
