Want to stop getting Preston's quests? Here's how!

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 8:23 am

Sorry in advance if this has already been posted, but I only encountered this today. I'm on PS4 and had both a kidnapping and ghoul-cleansing quest from Preston.

I was tired of his quests, but did do the objectives up until going back to Preston to talk to him. So I saved the settler and killed all ghouls in another location.

Then I just left the quests open. Turns out they eventually "complete" themselves :D I had no idea about this, it's gonna be a long while before I'll get back to Preston - if ever...!!

Cool, I will have to try this.
Thanks!

But, first...I am going to send him to Hangman's Alley...alone...no food...no water...no defenses...no damned bed either!
Yes, he irritates me just a bit. ;)

Can you just kill him?

If Im not mistaken he always has a essential flag, most likely because of the fact he's a quest giver.

I just started a second game yesterday and left Preston in Concord ... settlement works fine without him

I wish they'd just give you one quest at a time. I have 3 open at the moment and I'm simply just going to let them fail because I'm sick of them just stacking up. They are repeatable and they keep happening to the same places. I swear, the next friggin' settler that runs up to me in Sanctuary hills yammering on about how his buddy was kidnapped while I already have three active Minuteman quests is going to cop a Super Sledge to the head.

That is exactly what happens if you leave Preston in Concord. You get sometimes a quest from one of your settlers, but not that often as if Preston was around.

Too bad there is no offical way to tell Preston he should keep away from Sanctuary or else ...

I'm the General, shouldn't I be giving orders to him?

His quests can get annoying. Especially if you complete them all and are like "I'm finally done, I can focus on my other quests" and talk to him and he's like "I have another quest for you" how 'bout no?

What's worse is to ignore his quests and instead have a settler come up to you with some quest asking if you're from the Minutemen. Nope, I am not. Peace!

Can't get into the dialogue wheel with him anymore so I can't make him a follower and with sanctuary as my base and no way to remove him. it's very annoying. I wish I could try him as a companion and get rid of him

Yeah, found this out too. Some autofail if you just leave them as well. Not gonna lie, part of me was hoping this was a video of Preston being brutally murdered.

You mean because it's bugged? I hadn't heard of this before.
