An overall bleaker atmosphere, which I think is going to happen based on screenshots. I mean, while Morrowind was bleak, I mean the type of bleak I imagine when I listen to Hope Leaves by Opeth or when I listen to some Agalloch. Pine forests and grey skies, with all of the moral ambiguity to go with it. Also, I think that political factions should be put in, not unlike Morrowind's houses, but more easily reflectable to one's personal political beliefs. It always feels great to be able to input your own opinions in a story, whether a leftist, moderate, or a right-winger.

What is he? A Demigod? He already would've been old in Oblivion if he were in Morrowind too, but now he's supposed to be alive hundreds years later too? Immersion breaking!! :P

1) An M rated, darker setting, which includes....
- mature subject matter: slavery, drugs and alcohol, corruption of authorities, racism, and the ragged desperation of life in a non-modern semi-civilized society
- the ability to explore both sides of the moral spectrum on aforementioned subjects. The consumption / sale of illicit substances. The hunting / acquisition / emancipation of slaves. The participation in corruption or taking the moral high road at the expense of personal gain.
- blood

2) Proper (ie. "Morrowind style") item placement :D
- I like my trophy room. Nuff Said.

3) Proper (ie. "Morrowind style") soul gems.
- I prefer a label like "Terrible Fangbeast of Terror" rather than "Filled" on my soulgems, thanks.

4) Slower experience progression + more quest giving factions + repeatable semi-random quest content + interesting faction rewards
- Its a tough world out there, so help the Mercantile Guild by escorting caravans. The pay is decent and you're traveling anyway. Do it enough and maybe they'll kick you a permanent discount.
- Alchemists would rather spend time studying than gathering, why not constantly gather rare ingredients (perpetual fetch quest) to gain standing with Mages guild (or its equivalent). Do it enough and maybe you get a potion discount, or perhaps a potion of surpassing quality for all your hard work

i like number 1, but not like fallout 3 and its humor, i dont mind jokes here and there but i want the mature setting actually make me think of my morals, example i see a slave owner beating a slave, will i let him continue or kill him to help the slave, helping the slave gets me into trouble with the guards,so doing something good in modern standards will be a crime, have good choices get you in trouble with the law that is a darker world i want, where if i choose to be good could lead me on the wrong side of the law
racism yes-especially with the argonians and dark elves, they are suppose to hate each other.

Personally I am getting sick of morally "dark" video games... for a long time I was looking for that, but now all fantasy video games are becoming more "realistic", and for my fantasy video games sometimes that's not what I want. I want it to be rated M in that I want to see violence, some alcoholism and skooma use, but I don't want prosttutes, severe drug addicts, genocide, despair, and things like that. I want this game to be M rated, but I dont want it as dark as some of the other video games...I've played a lot of those lately. Does that make sense? If not I'll try and explain myself further heh. Its nothing against the people who DO want it darker, its just a personal preference really

However, I DO want...

1) More NPC battles. I mean, I remember going back to Half Life 1, seeing battles between guards and marines, or marines and aliens being some of the highlights of the game, and I would die to see battles between Loyalists and Rebels or bandits and guards in Skyrim...PRETTY PLEASE!

2) More connection with certain NPC's. The only character I felt relatively attached to in Oblivion was Martin, and that wasn't nearly enough for me. I mean sure we talked to him some, but I want a persistent character that we see often and have a real connection to.

3) A variety in human/humanoid opponents. If there are goblins, I want every clan to look distinct (either in clothing color or slight differences in skin color or body build), and for bandits, rebels, loyalists, guards, soldiers all to be distinguishable. I mean all the guards in Oblivion had the exact same outfits, just different color and crest, could have been a little different, and all bandits had the exact same outfits, a little more variety is all I ask

4) Interesting houses. Don't know what to add onto this, just every house being distinct from the others that you can own :P

I'm sure I'll think of more later *EDIT* And I did!

Thungrim's number 4 is exactly what i'm looking for. I LOVE slow level progression, that way I get to slowly get used to weapons and armor and get my use out of them. For example, in New Vegas I essentially skipped all of the 9 MM weapons (handguns and sub-machine guns) and went right to 10 MM simply because I leveled too fast. However, if you have a TON of levels and while you level up quick equipment doesn't change rapidly I'd be cool with that.

Also faction specific quests. if I'm doing a "fighters guild" quest, maybe someone hired the guild to help in a battle versus their enemy (Either loyalists or rebels) and for a moral choice I'd LOVE to see, maybe you can influence the guild on whether or not you should indeed back the ones who hired you, or maybe its more just to side with their enemies. For one of the magic guilds, perhaps you have to cure a nobles daughter of her curse and find the one who laid it upon her. Those sort of things (and damn @ my long post)

more populated environment for a visual effect, ex. more (pacifist)animals and fish in the seas (slaughter fish were annoying), more wildlife - birds, squirrels, rabbits, dear, moose, bears ect.
also much more epic battles, Oblivions final battle for Bruma was disappointing
other than that i'm happy with what i've heard of the game so far

passive wildlife for hunting is a great idea, a fishing system would be splendid! Battles between NPCs such as wolves hunting a bear or a dear OMG YES... better housing absolutely and the ability to better place objects, i certainly hope so.. i remember though in morrowind i made myself a massive pillow fortress... it was awesome. I hope skyrim has pillows... lots and lots of pillows.

HammyofDoom and desantininkas...
You both deserve a fishy stick...

I want a fully fleshed out bad guy aspect to the main quest. Im tired of being an assasin or theif and thring to make up some bizzar story as to why im still trying to save everyone.
Like mayBe we can take over the world when we kill alduin or something.

I just got sick of people being so happy to see me right befor I killed them
