Do Want!

Im curious because I only came into the elderscrolls at number 3. What do you all think would be a "Fun" addition to the game?

Feel free to offer opinions and suggestions, but heres a few examples of what I'm talking about.

The top things I want to see in Skyrim:

6. Fork of Horripilation
5. House of earthly delights
(EDIT) 4.5. Uderfrykte
4. Wabbajack (or a similar polymorph spell)
3. Umbra
2. Gambling with cards or dice
1. M'aiq The Liar

1) An M rated, darker setting, which includes....
- mature subject matter: slavery, drugs and alcohol, corruption of authorities, racism, and the ragged desperation of life in a non-modern semi-civilized society
- the ability to explore both sides of the moral spectrum on aforementioned subjects. The consumption / sale of illicit substances. The hunting / acquisition / emancipation of slaves. The participation in corruption or taking the moral high road at the expense of personal gain.
- blood

2) Proper (ie. "Morrowind style") item placement :D
- I like my trophy room. Nuff Said.

3) Proper (ie. "Morrowind style") soul gems.
- I prefer a label like "Terrible Fangbeast of Terror" rather than "Filled" on my soulgems, thanks.

4) Slower experience progression + more quest giving factions + repeatable semi-random quest content + interesting faction rewards
- Its a tough world out there, so help the Mercantile Guild by escorting caravans. The pay is decent and you're traveling anyway. Do it enough and maybe they'll kick you a permanent discount.
- Alchemists would rather spend time studying than gathering, why not constantly gather rare ingredients (perpetual fetch quest) to gain standing with Mages guild (or its equivalent). Do it enough and maybe you get a potion discount, or perhaps a potion of surpassing quality for all your hard work

What? Don't like whacking stuff with the flat side of your axe like in Morrowind? :D

I always found it amusing that to maximize progression in a skill (strike more times in one encounter) I consistently used weapons in the least effective manner.

I didn't get it. Did you like the Morrowind system better? I think x damage to y damage belongs in MMORPGs

This is the ONE thing I liked in Oblivion more than Morrowind. As I said, it was "amusing" to me that I could maximize my skill progression in a given weapon by using it in the least effective manner. The whole time I kept thinking to myself "why wouldn't I always use the weapon as effectively as I knew how"?

Though I suppose there is a case for Morrowind style making the weapons actually feel different to play.

If that would involve the dice rolls that you had to drudge through, please no. (Hey look, a guy in full ebony that is pissed at me and has 770 luck, LOL WERE THEY HIGH WHEN THEY CAME UP WITH THIS?)

Hey, look, this guy stole my post. :P

But yeah, this. Exactly. Especially #1. Corruption and greed with moraly grey situations make the atmosphere of a game world immense.

Yeah, because they were in every other cave.

NPC's interacting affectionately with other NPC's, as though they were part of an actual community. Things like a father patting his son on the head or a wife giving her husband a kiss would go a long way to improve immersion.

Fallout NV's ambiguous ethics.

I also want the grand-world feel of Morrowind (:

Defenetly! Wulf for the win :D
Also: NO Dragon Armor(except a few ARTIFACTS, like the Dragonbone cuirass. They should feel rare and unique).
Better options for playing as the faction leader. And factions that work more like the ones in MW(they just made more sense to me, even if I think that OB is an amazing game).
More material diversity(weight, item health, etc. You MW nuts know what I'm talking about ;) ).
Skill requirements for guild/faction advancement.
More artifacts(weapons, armor, clothes etc. All the good stuff :D ).
Darker setting as mentioned by Thungrim.
More insight into the Nordic religion(and the orcs since their city is quite close).
A book called "Fables of Old" that only have this message written in it: "This story is so boring that you are unable to read further". Would be a fun reference to the fact that many seem to dislike fable on these forums :P (never played fable myself, so I can't jugde the series).

Here's what I would like to see.

-M'aiq the liar is a definitive must (and please let him continue to diss Fable. Best line of his. Have played Fable and while humorous, it doesn't hold a candle to Elder Scrolls.)
-A journal to write in or the ability to actually do something with all that bloody paper and ink so I can write a novel of my epic journey, or make a wacky diary.
-No creepy old ladies that suddenly speak with a different voice because that stuff just scared me.
-random encounters that make you go "What the H just happened?" Like the guy falling out of the sky in Morrowind.
-Dye for my armor.

Type in "free blackjack" into google.

There you go, theres millions of options for you.

My only wish for this game is that there is no gambling with cards or dice.

Nah, he wasnt that hard if you entered tribunal with a character with decent level, the only hard fight I remember was where I tried to take on all "Hands of Almalexia" at once. Curse their damn Swords!

1. Aerial Mounts (Doesn't necessary have to be technological in nature, a flying gryphon or similar mount would do).

2. The return of levitation magic (I know this seems to defeat the purpose of my first one on the list. But, mounts wouldn't cost MP to use like levitation would).

3. Enhanced music implementation more in line with that of Daggerfall, for example, where you had music for Day/Night, Rainy/Clear Weather, Land travel/swimming, and the like.

4. Joinable religious factions (in this case, those of the 9 divines).

5. The return of Mark/Recall magic with the ability to set multiple mark anchors as was modded into Oblivion and Morrowind (although I'd be ok with just being able to set one mark. But, it made long distance round trips so much easier for me when I'm deep down in a dungeon and can't fast travel out of the dungeon and back to town).

6. Robot Master Weapons from Mega Man (for the Blue Bomber in all of us). ...... JUST KIDDING:-) .

7. More books/detailed lore on the divines, the daedra, and their respective realms. (I'm always interested in reading about the Daedra as well as the realms of Oblivion that they reside in).

8. More varieties of enemies (possibly including some boss-type enemies for some areas of the game).

9. More varieties of architecture/style/design for the different areas of the game. (In playing the Ys, Final Fantasy, and other similar series of games, I always loved looking at the style of architecture and design for the many different areas you could venture into).

10. More variety in spell creation. (I think this would be alot of fun. It would be nice, for example, to be able to have more control over how your Ice/Fire/Lightning effects behave instead of just being able to adjust the size of your Fire/Shock/Ice Ball, the magnitude of damage dealt, and the duration of the spell effect after it hits the target).

More books would be absolutely wonderful, i loved reading "a game at dinner" and "the lusty argonian maid." as well as the alms and history about the tribunal.

Gambling with dice would jsut be something fun, if you lose too much the loansharks could hunt you down, your require you to do some dark tasks to pay them off.

I also want a darker, more gritty feel with slavery, and dismemberment, and the like. The game should be M, may as well all the content that makes it enjoyable.

Great minds think alike and all that jazz. :)

I'm actually thinking less "morally grey" and just outright real moral choices. Maybe your character thinks its perfectly ok to collar the lizardfolk and put them to work for a real civilization. That's plain old morally wrong, despite personal attempts to justify it. Let people get their hands dirty.
Furthermore, screw balance. Let some choices be explicitly "better" for you in the absolute sense, like accepting bribes without consequence, or taking a slave in a culture that condones it. Those who take the moral highground might only have that knowledge as a reward. Can't think of a situation where the reverse is true, but there you go.

Most games today look for moral ambiguity, but I think there's some interesting character development consequences for moral decisions that simply aren't ambiguous.
