'do u want the ability to have your own children in skyrim?'

Well. It wouldn't hurt to have the option there. Question is...would years pass in-game for you to see your kid grow up?
Who wants to see a little Khajiit?! =P

Meh, who knows. While your wife/partner raises the kid with their family in 'blah' town, some Dragon lands in the streets and starts to demolish everything. What you do now is up to you!

To answer it personally: I don't really care, lol. If there is, maybe. Why not? It's there to experience. If done well, maybe it'll pull at your heartstrings, who knows?
Not expecting it though.

I know there'll be kids because of the Game Informer saying that if you dropped a weapon, a Kid might grab it and run over, asking if you mean to drop it or something like that.

Nah, Sure the games main story is, YOU PLAY AS THE LAST DRAGONBORN !
So if you had children, well, wouldn't that make then Dovahkiin ? :P

No you are not the last dragonborn by default, if you are then this is not an RPG but an adventure game, automatically being someone is not role-playing. I am against having kids in the game but not because of "i r de drugunburn heroz!" this argument that is so stupid that is so tiresome... and even often from people who claim to like "RPG′s" those people don′t even know what an RPG is (I′ve had this argument a few times with others, I realize there is a "modern" definition forming... but I am going by the original definition derived from the word itself "role-play" (as in playing a role you make))!

There is a reason we start off in jail, and in fact Oblivion was not really an RPG in the words fullest meaning,
Spoiler
Tiber Septim had his role cut out for him and his visions were correct, so the moment he told you that it was you who he saw in his dreams (heck that was as soon as in the cell we started in...) you got a role that you were destined for, you were not a baker, you were not some farmer or petty beggar, you were nothing you wanted to be, you were only the chosen one and nothing more.

Morrowind handled this a lot better with...
Spoiler
sending you on very lighthearted missions to begin with and even later on it was claimed that they could not be sure if you were Nerevar reincarnated or not until there were too many facts to argue against it and with you having the back up evidence from a Daedric Prince(ess ?) claiming you to be Nerevar reincarnated.

Sorry for the rant but I am getting really tired of this whole "you must be the Dragonborn" claim some people make, it is false, at least if Skyrim is going to be a true RPG. Really hoping here that I will not be "forced" to be someone again in Skyrim like in Oblivion, if so they may as well skip the whole jail theme and do something else.

Though if they do add children, it will more than likely be the obnoxious immortal FO3 ones...

I can see both ways here.
From a roleplaying view, and if it was a choice rather than forced why not?
It would make roleplaying a certain type of character more responsible.
You could role play a farmer/worker,who has to provide for his family etc.
There could be benefits to it,it's not just black and white.
But if it's not there ....i'm fine with it.
But like i said ,this is something that could be seen from both sides really.

2) You can't have children in Fable unless your wife already had a child when you married her.

Where you get this from? You did the deed, and she'd have a kid. You could also adopt in Fable III.

-snip-

You are the Dragonborn, but the dragonborn isn't one specific person it's anyone from any of the bloodlines dating back to that Slave queen chick. The elf-dude who lead the Mythic dawn is speculated to be one due to the fact that he could wear the amulet.

True that but you are still limited to that bloodline, in any-case many do view the Dragonborn as being "only" this hero and it tickles me in places one should not be tickled.

On another note as has been pointed out it may be oki to "bump uglies" as he worded it and have children after 500+ hours but I am still a bit wobbly on my stance for children, it′s a rather unexplored territory that could have pretty big implications for the game.

It is fine if they can manage it without doing damage to other features, but it certainly is not required. Not at all. That is more a Fable thing, and it works for Fable, but I don't know how well it would translate here. If they are going to take any fable cues, I would much rather some form of couch co-op, than the ability to spawn a heap of mini mes.

Dovakhiin: I'm off to work, kids. Have a good day at school.

Kid: Daddy/Mommy, what do you do for a living?

Dovakhiin: I'm a dragon hunter.

Kid: Can I come with you to work?

Dovakhiin: Well, bring your son/daughter to slaughter a dragon day is coming up a few weeks after your birthday. Tell you what, I'll buy you your own battleaxe for your birthday.

Kid: Thanks, Dad/Mom!

Dovakhiin: You don't turn five years old every day, now do you?

See, I don't understand that. Someone proposes and idea that ins't forced onto you (if you don't want to have a kid, easy fix, then don't) but since you don't want it it can't be in the game.

Because it's a stupid idea and the time required could be better spent making the game better.
