Nah it would be funny

It would be cool to take such a quest and then go to the place but intentionally fail to do the quest and see what happens

How would Bethesda make you "fail" a quest that endangered the being of a child

True, there would be a heavy "Monty Python" element to it.
Kidnapper: "Pay up, or the kid gets it!"
Me: "No."
Kidnapper: "You were warned!" *fails attempt at harming child*
My in-game kid: "I'm invincible! Muaaahahahahahaha!"
