I want the enclave back

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 9:42 pm

We know they might be in Chicago, so are you happy OP?

Lore wise and logic they should be a small remnant group there. An outpost built by remnants from Navarro on their way to DC. Other wise the Enclave are done as anything more then remnants.

Interesting bit here. Chicago is also where the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLkBoOmCRWI started their originization after they were cast out of the original knowledge hoarding BoS. They have been thier for 80 years or more and one of the endings to Tactics they become a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2ZcpcO7C58 that rounds up and kills mutations and human sympathisers. Maybe the Enclave encountered this Brotherhood and now work together :shifty:

@The Enclave: I have to get the word out. I know I have become predictable.

Oh crap, its a plausible theory.

Glad you think so, I have put alot of thought into it and as you and The Enclave can see I take every chance to post the idea. I did not post my whole theory because I don't want to bug people to much :shifty:

@ The Enclave are you going to split that $100 with me? :teehee:

PLAUSIBLE? Look at the Enclave's armor in FO3. Now, look at the Power Armor sprites in Fallout Tactics.

Here's some linkies for you so you don't have to chase them down yourself

Enclave PA

Tactics PA
http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081104110521/fallout/images/6/66/FoT_Power_armor.png

The design is almost exactly the same!

THE MIDWESTERN BoS HAS JOINED THE ENCLAVE!!!

... that would also explain why the Mk. II Advanced Power Armor is weaker than the Mk. I, if the RR Enclave were using the Midwestern Power Armor as a base.

Hardly definative, they just took the design, nowhere in F3 is a connection ever hinted; besides why would they need too? We know that they can build new power armour from somewhere in D.C. - Hellfire Power Armour - and that the MWBoS developed their power armour long before Fallout 2 by which the Enclave had it's own superior power armour.

Well, the Mk. II is a closer match to the MWBoS design than the original Mk I design; and in most RL cases, the newest model of a car, weapon, airplane, etc. resembles the predecessor. We also have the Mk I design, as shown by New Vegas, so we can't say that Bethesta retconned the design. For all we know, they lost their ability to pump out the Mk I design when the Oil Rig blew up.

And as to "the connection isn't hinted," well, the vaults weren't revealed to be a lethal form of human experementation until after FO2 was released.

Besides, I'm remarking on how easy it would be for Bethesda to shoehorn that connection in during a later fallout game.

I doubt thats the case. We all should know that the real explanation for the similarities in armor design is due to Bethesda just saying "hey that looks cool...lets use it for Fallout 3's Enclave!" I doubt they were thinking about a MWBOS/Enclave "alliance" when developing Fallout 3.

Whether or not they are going to explain it in a later game with some lore about an Enclave-Brotherhood deal has yet to be seen though (more than likely not).

Well Mark II existed in Fallout 2:

I'm still for retcon change personally; it's like saying that two completely seperate models of Vertibird exist.

If the Enclave comes back, they'll need to open a few Control Vaults, and do some recruiting/brainwashing.

Actually, the Enclave even considers Vault Dwellers, prime normals, to be mutants, and that is because the Vaults air filtration, while it did keep out 99.9% of germs, the modified FEV they were making was fully capable of bypassing Vault filtration, and i think it is said that the Vaults air filtration may not be good enough to prevent minute mFEV contamination.

Yeah because everyone in the Enclave is a soldier right?

Nope. But they need soldiers to protect the scientists and politicians, and most of their soldiers are dead.

Plus, everyone wants a free plasma rifle, right? I know if I were Enclave, and they had that deal going, I'd be trying to knock up as many women as possible, as much as possible. Plasma rifles are just that cool. Worth dealing with the kids. (It's the equivalent of in RL being given a free sports car for having a kid, and then if the kid takes a specific job, getting a free years supply of gas! FUN TOYS!)

Yes, my view of plasma rifles means the Enclave would probably never let me have one, and the BoS would probably take them away from me. Melty-fun.

Well to be technical most of everybody is dead :P.

I get the feeling that unless the Enclave completely dies out and collapses as an organisation that they are going to come back as a less extremist organisation; I prefer the former honestly.

Better dead than red.

Or in this case, better dead than a clone of the Brotherhood.

I'm waiting for some Fallout decades after this one where we discover the Van Graffes are out of business, and the Gun Runners are being driven out of business by E-tech arms and armor (an Enclave subsidiary). Then they just use their status as influential and rich merchants to get Kimball and Friends to give them effective control of the NCR military, and relative immunity to the law.

Wouldn't be hard for them to do, and who can stop them once they get rolling at entrenching themselves like they did pre-war? Only the BoS has the tech to really play on their level, and the BoS is unwilling to try new things and ideas, and has been beaten bloody because of it.

I'd rather, and this applies for both the Enclave and BoS, they die out, but a future faction to discover their technology, and pervert it to fit a need that works in opposition of what they wanted to do, like Ghouls controlling Enclave tech, or a cult of extremist Atom worshipers to get control of the BoS's tech in order to create another Great War-esque event, this kind of irony would sit well with me.

I might want a woman to coat me in thousand island dressing and beat me with dead cod, it doesn't make it a good idea, even if it's a plausible one.

NO. In F2 they were a cool faction with a good history/ story. Bringing them back in F3 was a bad idea. The Enclave has just been used too much, let them die.
