I want the enclave back

Why its possible...

More than possible, it's likely. They are just to good a faction to toss out, plus Bethesda has already said that they are still out there.

How many times can you exterminate a faction before there's no credibility in their return. They do not recruit, the Gary Vault shows cloning isnt ready - exacltly where are these new enclave folk coming from?

Hopefully, any further showing of the Enclave would be like what we saw in FO:NV; remnants, or (better yet) a shadowy orginization that has started to instigate various factions into conflict so they and their limited manpower (but superior tech) will have an easier time in exterminating/controlling the immediate area. It's a lot easier to kill off an enemy that has expended a ton of resources fighting someone else.

An interesting twist may also be that the Enclave is a "branch" of an even larger organization; one that instigated the Great War so that humanity could start-over...

Given that their objective in Fallout 2 was the complete global destruction of everything outside of - from President Richardson:

{273}{prs54}{You could try, I suppose, but soon the staff of the Enclave and Navarro will be inoculated.}

I don't think that it would be a good twist.

That outpost, was set up by the Navarro troops as they crossed the country from the Core Region to the Capital Wasteland. Your forgetting that the majority of the Enclave was at the Oil Rig, they were called the Enclave because the Oil Rig's codename was ENCLAVE, the Enclave is from the ENCLAVE, and only people on the ENCLAVE or Navarro, which was set up by the people at the ENCLAVE, were to be inoculated against the disease that was their central tool for their plans, so it is unlikely that any other outposts of Enclave personnel would be of any considerable size or of any considerable importance. There are probably other Enclave outposts, but i doubt they will be anything more than Vertibird refueling stations with a handful of personnel to maintain and guard the outpost.

I hated that part, dear god Bethesda, this isn't a cartoon, the Enclave isn't just some cat-petting-ly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6ucZsJQxbQ empire that has a limitless army of cannon fodder storm troopers.

That's completely different.

Bethesda saying that the Enclave are still out there would be a major developer, in an interview, saying "What? You thought that RR was all of the Enclave Personnel?" What you heard was the BoS's standpoint, since there's still an Enclave presence in FO3 after Broken Steel.

I'd really enjoy seeing no Enclave in the next game. Not because I hate them or anything (they were very good at leaving valuable loot around, after all), but because they've been done. Let's see something new.
For that matter, I'd also like to see no NCR, no Legion, no Supermutants and no BoS in the next game. Give the old workhorses a rest. Put 'em in the next West Coast spinoff, if there is one.

Fallout takes place on a pretty big planet. It's a shame to keep seeing the same stuff over and again.

I assume you are referring to Elder Lyon's statement right?

Well in my opinion, old Elder Lyon's is perhaps one of the last people that I would trust for reliable intel. After all, he and his Brotherhood were virtually unaware of the Enclave at Raven Rock up to the point when they came in guns a-blazing at the purifier.

Too Bad, they got their asses handed to them 3 times now, they have died out on the West Coast and they are routed and in full retreat on the East Coast. Cant a faction just die already???

As well I assume you started playing with Fallout 3.

I wouldn't mind some sort of Autumnist Enclave poping up, but nothing major, and Styles crack open some wild theories, I agree with them sort of.

EDIT: Ninja'd, good on you Styles bringing out your most beautiful theories involving the MWBoS

How come, when anybody cares about the validity of a games experience, and voices said care, they are "whining"?

Just thought I d throw this in to stoke the fire a bit lol.

Fallout bible timeline written by a fo2 dev Chris Avellone after fo2.

" 2077 Enclave retreats to remote sections of the world"

After seeing Zion just imagine how good the Congo is looking.

Come now Rook, we've gone over that statement.

In any case, the matter was settled when Styles emailed Chris himself and asked for clarification, to which the response was that the BIble should no longer be considered full canon. Which means unless that quote gets backed up with info from a game, it means nothing really.

Well, I personally enjoy the Enclave, but my experience in the Fallout universe starts at Fallout 3 and ends at New Vegas...

Although, I do sort of feel that they have had their time, considering all the face time they have gotten. Maybe sometime in later games?

But, I do enjoy the Brotherhood of Steel, and they are what make Fallout for myself, really. Without them, I don't know... I was kind of disappointed when I discovered the role of the BoS in New Vegas, but there was a lot of other great stuff.

Just, as long as they don't remove the Enclave and BoS entirely, that's cool. But, I would like to see the BoS having a big role again soon.
