I want a vest

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 8:36 am

I ain't saying the game should go steampunk in any kinda way, but I REALLY want some cool looking clothes that aren't rags, pantalooms, or regal goobleteegoop. I wanna wear/enchant something like this... (minus the goggles, hand thing, and giant wrench)

Also, THIS.

I'm sick of looking like Robin Hood (not the badass BBC Robin Hood).

Udig? What sorta clothes would you like in the game? :homestar:

Well, we get Dwemer ruins again, and they were pretty damn steampunk. Maybe we can find a Dwemer pocketwatch.

I don't think it would fit in with the era that the games are tring to reprisent. Those vests/frock coats are far too modern to fit in with the fantasy world of TES, and especially with the Nordic Skyrim.

I hope we get something at least Dwemer styled, even if not full blown steampunk (which looks awesome btw. I never really looked into steampunk until now).

The Dwemer, despite being very tech savy for their age, looked much more Sumerian or Babylonian.

Yeah, I ain't even gonna get past step 1 D:

I just think it's stupid how the lower class wear brown basic clothes, middle class wear bright coloured tights and stuff, and the rich wear freaking gowns 24/7.

I wanna see some variety. Some new styles with a bit more character. I wanna see massive mammoth fur coats on warriors are gentemen wearing vests and simple, respectable clothing.

Like most male gamers I'd love chainmail bikinies.. however since they're the first mods to get posted among other things.
No matter if they're not in a vanilla game.

Fur, rough fabrics and leather are most likely to be in though.
There were plenty of gowns and outfits to choose from in history.. and any dev should at least be able to adapt some of them.

Just one word: anachronism.

Well, we get Dwemer ruins again, and they were pretty damn steampunk. Maybe we can find a Dwemer pocketwatch.

The dwemer have "steampunk" techonology (more or less), but their style is mesopotamian.

[censored] steampunk. I'd rather have funky Final Fantasy guns, and that's saying a lot.

I like steampunk, but I don't think it suits the style of the game. Although, for some reason, I always think of High Rock as having a slightly Victorian style, even though it probably doesn't. I'd like to see maybe a little Victorian influence but keep it very minimal.

No, you should not look like Sheogorath from Daggerfall, and as said earlier, the dwemer may be tech savvy, but they have a style closer to Sumerian or Babylonian.

Well don't expect to see sophisticated clothes like you did in Cyrodiil, this is Skyrim, the clothes are going to be rugged. If you want clothes like those in the pictures you linked you'll need to mod them in. I would make the meshes for them but I'll be too busy making my greatest armor I've ever created. I can already imagine it perfectly and I can't wait to get a hold of the Creation Kit and make it in it's truest glory. It just won't look perfect in Oblivion graphics so I'm going to wait until Skyrim.
