Daidem of the savant is classed as light armour.

If you are on the PC, there are mods for that.

If your not on pc, there is no way around it

If you wear a pen oc helmet over the circlet you will keep wind walker. Kill the pen oc guy inside their outpost at dragon bridge to get one.

Certain Falmer helmets will also work. But this is technically a bug/exploit, and the unofficial patches fix it.

Cheers for that....although unfortunately the circlets are too gaudy for my down-to-earth character. A simple leather tie, or maybe simple silver band with possibly a small stone or two would be much better.
