I Want You Guys To Decide For Me.....

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 2:16 pm

Since the release of the new trailer, I've have been going back and forth on deciding what my first character will be...either a warrior or a mage. Before the release of trailer, I was leaning towards a warrior. But the trailer mind-screwed me and left me with a decision; and I thought I'd let you lovely people decide for me. And whatever has the most votes by 2:00 tomorrow morning...is what my first character will be.

Figher/Mage or Battle Mage, however you want to put it.

Yeah I know, but I want my first character to be 100% something, no mix. Later on down the road...definitely.

Figher/Mage

Yeah, why not be both? The new 'free' levelling system should let you make flexible decisions in your playing style.

Oh, I know! You should be the sort that sneaks around in the shows, then leaps out swinging a massive battle axe in one hand and lightning in the other!

I feel like a father trying to get his kid to focus on books instead of partying.

Go mage. Enroll in the finest school in the land and study hard. One day you'll be a demi god among men while all the warrior jocks who spent all their time playing with swords are drunk in some tavern.

This is me role playing a mage BTW. I roll warrior too from time to time.

I voted for the option that currently caused the poll to be exactly 50/50. I suppose that was kind of mean, but I'm a fan of hybrid classes.

If I had to choose one or the other I'd probably pick mage, though I want to attempt a stealth/mage hybrid when I play. I'm not sure how well they will compliment each other though.

My main character, a Dunmer, will be a Warrior-Mage using Destruction and Blades!
My second will be a burly Nord that likes spoons and kills Dragons by punching their faces in!

What I'm trying to say is that you can be both easily because you don't NEED every magic or combat skill and the two work well together.

Go with a warrior! Scrounge, loot or craft him some decent armour, put a waraxe in his hand, and away!

Be a mage, but only use defensive/utility magic and play a pacifist!

LOL, I'd like to play that too. Command, frenzy and invisibility spells will be the name of the game!

OP, you saw that part in the in game trailer where the draugr got smashed right in the face? Now imagine if you freeze the bugger beforehand, then split its frozen mug to smithereens with a sledgehammer... That's how you'd doin' it, son. Man up and roll a lumbering Orc Battlemage.

I'm personally planning on going the stealth/assassination route with my first character. However he will most likely be a Breton, so some schools of magic will also be a focus.

If you are adamant about choosing strictly between a full on warrior or a full on mage for your first character, I'd go with the warrior. The improved combat looks like a lot of fun, especially against dragons. You can always make a mage as your second character!

If you can't decide between them then surely a stealth/archer is the only way to go?
