WANTED: Design Your Own Fallout Shelter for Fallout 4!

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 2:59 pm

One of the most popular mods for the fallout 3 & new vegas are people who have made their own home or designed their own bunker/fallout shelter.

Why not build it into fallout 4 much like was done for Evil Genius. Could be multiple plot devices and missions for getting stuff for your bunker/fallout shelter.

Perhaps have the character find a congressional key card that opens a door to a series of Mr Gutsy construction bots awaiting the customized construction of the congressman's personal shelter but additional materials are needed to complete the project etc.

All sorts of replay ability then can ensue, defend your shelter from all manner of wasteland hordes etc.

Well, I love the idea, but I'm not exactly sure how that would be possible, unless Bethesda/Obsidian (depending on who develops FO4) decides to use an updated Creation Engine. I'm not sure that Gamebryo was ever capable of such a thing, but you never know. And even then - the Creation Engine was based off of Gamebryo.

Well, then again, we saw customisation in a lot of those mods anyways, so if the modders can create a mod like that, I'm sure Beth/Obsidian could do it. ;)

Yes i like it kinda like the themes for Megaton...which i loved but on a much grander scale.

you could go about getting a new place that starts as a shack or a hole in the ground as you gain in one of three means your house can be added to or moved to 3 or 4 different places be it in rep, money or power. Starting place: a cardboard box, a shipping on container or a blown out skeleton. the box is cheap but has to be up graded quickly and shack like (sauaging for parts), container is rustic very rough but you dont have to build it up fast slow to upgrade, the skeleton of a small building expensive to get started but easiest but slowest to upgrade. depending on which set of housing points you use (rep, money or power) it defines how the room will look and where it will be added to the structure. Kinda mixing the upgrades from NV to the themes of Megaton.
