Wanted:Endgame Enchantments Advice

Post » Sat Jun 30, 2012 10:39 am

Hey, guys I am currently playing a level 81 Imperial on master difficulty and was hoping for some advice as to the best gear enchants for end game. The perks and gear should be spec'd for a one handed sword/shield user wearing heavy armor. Here's what I have so far, let me know if you have got better ideas!

(All gear is daedric, improved and enchanted with max (w/o falmer glitch) 130% smith 32% enchanting potions)
* = couldn't think of anything better, suggestions por favor

Helmet: Water Breathing*, Fortify Magic (helmets blow for warriors, magic is just to summon Arvak, nothing put into magic attribute lol)
Armor: Fortify Health, Fortify Stamina Regen
Gauntlets: Fortify One-handed, Fortify Sneaking*
Boots: Fortify One-handed, Fortify Stamina Regen
Shield: Resist Magic, Resist Fire*
Necklace: Fortify One-handed, Resist Magic
Ring: Fortify One-handed, Resist Magic

Sword: (Lots of options here, I'd love to hear your ideas) Drain Stamina, Paralyze

To be honest, just the base Armor, without Enchantments, guarantees you will face few challenges. The Fortify One-handed are all overkill.

I like the Weapon Enchantment - more power attacks/shield bashes, chance to take an enemy out of the fight for a bit.

Minus the Fortify One-handed, that looks quite good. Have you considered taking up a magic school? Restoration gels very well with a warrior build.

Can't think of anything to add to the armor. As for the swords, drain health always comes in handy when up close and personal.

Hi, welcome to the forum. Just a couple of pieces of advice from me:

- You're right, helmets do svck pretty bad for warrior types. However, this is where the Dragon Priest masks come in. There are 3 very good masks for heavy armor warriors:
Spoiler
Rahgot from Forelhost near Riften gives you 70 points Stamina, which can't be custom enchanted onto headgear.

Otar from Ragnvald near Markarth gives you an excellent 30% Frost, Fire and Shock (so effectively magic) resist, which not only cannot be enchanted on headpieces otherwise but will also free up precious enchanting slots on ring and necklace.

Konahrik is the most difficult to obtain - only available when all 8 other masks are placed together at Labrynthian - but has a unique effect: a chance to instantly heal yourself when you get low on health and summon a dragon priest to aid you in combat!

All these Dragon Priest masks have an armor rating similar to that of a Daedric Helmet and are improved through Daedric Smithing so are well worth seeking out as a warrior.

If you're not into the masks, there are also two other useful helmets:

Spoiler
Yngol's Helmet is found in Yngol's Barrow, only accessible by getting the Coral Claw from a shop in Winterhold. It looks very cool - like the Draugr Deathlord helmets - and gives you 30% Frost Resist and a high Armor Rating.

Ancient Nord Helmet of the Unburned is found in Labrynthian gives you a nice 40% Fire Resistance.

Waterbreathing is a novelty effect since there are next to no submerged ruins / treasures that require you to have it. But as you say, you end up scraping the bottom of the barrel for enchants for warrior helmets anyway.
  • On your Gauntlets, instead of Fortify Sneaking, try Fortify Block so that your shield is more effective.
  • Instead of Resist Fire on your Shield, you can try another Fortify Health, since the extra health will protect you against fire and everything else as well.
  • If you followed my advice in the spoiler tags, you'll have more than enough elemental/magic resistance, especially if you have the Elemental Protection perk from the Block tree. On your Rings and Necklaces you can put basically any enchantment, so you could Fortify Health / Stamina / Stamina Regen more, or move the Stamina Regen from your Boots and put Muffle there instead. Similarly, you can put Waterbreathing onto your Necklace if you really want it that bad. However on Master Difficulty the more Magic Resist you can get the better, so it may be worth keeping those enchants to stack up. Quick piece of useful advice though (spoils a quest reward):
Spoiler
By completing the Wolf Queen quests starting in Solitude, you'll be rewarded with the Shield of Solitude. This shield has a special version of the resist magic effect that is stronger than normal, and can be disenchanted then put onto your own items for extra magic resistance.
  • From the sounds of your armor enchants you'll probably have more than enough Stamina and Health for most battles. I would try something like Fire Damage + Paralyze on the sword, since that will help you against a wide range of foes.
Hope this helps, let me know what you make of it.
