Wanted Maps

Might be fun for lights, but it seems like it would put heavies at a huge disadvantage if all the objectives were 7 floors above and they only had one ramp to choose from.

No more than one ramp. Like escalator, air pipes, mainatance tunnels etc.

I'll assume that the majority of the Ark is explored over the course of the campaign, so my idea would be the take the conflict elsewhere. As most of the glaciers have melted and the water level has risen, eventually Antartica would also begin to warm. As it does, new glaciers would break off. These new glaciers would eventually drift to other regions and eventually one finds its way near the Ark. The Security quickly establishs a forward base on this glacier but due to its massive size they are unable to simply move it in its entirety. Instead they begin to break apart portions of it that they can more easily transport back to the Ark. Soon the Resistance devises it own plan to use a tug boat to claim some of this 'fresh water' for their own.

I'd be curious to see how the introduction of an ice environment would affect SMART. Thoughts?

YES! Another great idea! i like how you even are thinking of the rest of the world and made it into a map :D this idea could work pretty welll with the snow level idea on page one. And it could make some pretty epic SMART moves such as extra long slides on icy areas and breakable ledges in order to deny the other team of shortcuts .

I'd like to see some very vertical stuff. I realise that based on the Ark that it's unlikely, but I'm thinking buildings that falling off = death, but they're all enterable on multiple floors.
Well, that wasn't described very well.

You read my mind, I really like vertical maps, they do always have a major problem though, stairways always turn into major choke points. They need good design for this not to happen and it can be really hard to do, even adding multiple routes to get up/down can sometimes not be much help as they can be easy to defend.

I want to see a farm or an orchard. They have to get fresh food from somwwhere and using SMART to jump off of trees would be pretty cool.

Chances are, food for the Ark would not be produced by a traditional farm or orchard. They would probably be using hydroponics, aeroponics and vertical farming techniques.

It would be difficult to justify why a bridge would be near the floating Ark so how about using a salvaged aircraft carrier instead? It would have the length to mimic a bridge and it certainly has the height needed. You could simply remove exterior sections and collapse portions of the flight deck to get the bridge feel that you want. You could even have the map change from a claustraphobic interior section down below to an open area with long sightlines towards the top. Add in the bridge and flight control tower and you have a very interesting map with various environments.

There are multiple bridges protruding from the Ark. I think one of them leads tot he Reactor.

Remember, Brink takes place in 2045 - they have built onto the Ark since then.

Some of these I've mentioned before:

-A map that is nothing but rooftops. Lots of jumping over gaps and stuff.

-A weird, abstract map that looks something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGhXZhwASzs

-A map where part of it is flooded, giving you the option to use flooded hallways and such as shortcuts, which is both beneficial and dangerous.

-A close-quarters map enclosed in a single apartment building.

-A map that takes place in the middle of an intense thunderstorm at night. Low-visibility with lighting illuminating the field every so often. You could turn on lights but that might give away your position.

what about a large two story shopping centre/ mall. inside and outside. inside there could be theatres and stalls. also shops that has more than one floor.
outside there could be more shops. benches, an abandoned market and other outside stuff (couldnt think of anything else). i think the SMART system could work really well here. :)

And there is a http://www.brinkthegame.com/ark/island/ overviewing the entire Ark on the Brink website. The bridge that you mention is quite one-dimensional and has only water below it with absolutely no vertical aspect until you get off of the actual bridge. Other than that there are two other bridges (not counting the short pedestrian walkways), one of which connects to the airport and the other I'm not quite sure where it leads. Anyway, all of these bridges are quite flat and offer no depth to the actual gameplay which is why I suggested the aircraft carrier alternative, which you ignored.

Sorry for claiming that there are no bridges near the Ark, but after viewing the map I would not consider them anything substantial as most of them are simply walkways over water (but by definition I guess they are still bridges). I will be especially careful now that I realize you will continue to ignore the substance of my posts and only correct the least significant errors contained in them.
