War RP Idea

Cyrodil Shattered

Tensions run high among the Elder Council. Some members argue that an Emperor must be appointed. Meanwhile Chancellor Ocato vies for power and total control of the Empire.
They argue over whether or not the Legion should abandon their Eastern posts due to high costs with no threat from that direction.
Failing to agree on anything, the situation comes to a climix. Ocato accuses the entire council of treason. Although some are slain, Eight escape the city with their personal escorts, scattering to Cyrodils cities. Within weeks each city becomes a powerful city-state, with each former council member appointed Head-of-State. Some hold titles, others simply going by their name.

For three whole years, all remains relatively peaceful, up until now each faction has only embarked on sabatoge and information gathering excursions.
But this relative peace is fleeting.
Leaders prepare for war, stockpiling weapons and supplies, making alliances and plans.

You have been caught up in the commotion, and play a vital role in the upcoming power struggle.
Are you a simple soldier fighting on the frontlines?
A General in control of hundreds of troops?
Perhaps you are a regular citizen, or an advisor to the leaders of the whole operation.

Whichever the case, what is about to happen will forever alter the history of Tamriel.
Good luck.

Some Elder Council Members did agree with each other, and some have decided to get past their differences and work together for similar goals.

The Factions are as follows:

The Old Empire: Chancellor Ocato, Count Luspinian Maraennius of Chorrol, and Count Malpenix Mercius of Skingrad have united to form The Old Empire. Ideally fighting to reunite the Empire and restore order. They retain control of the Legion and the Mages in their territories. Holding the lands falling in the triangle between their cities, and bordering the Blackwood Alliance from Fort Black Boot to Fort Variela. In full control of the West Weald, leaving a buffer zone between Elsewyr.
Wealth: Just below average, decent stockpile of weapons.

Skyrim Republic of Bruma: Lead by Fjorkvar Whitebeard, Fjorkvar fortified Bruma and called on Skyrim to aid him with a large force of hardy Nordic warriors.
Border goes from Fort Greenwinter (Formerly For Rayles), to Fort Caractacus, to Fort Chalman and arching over Cheydinhal near the foothills of the Jerall Mountains.
Wealth: The Clans and Holds of Skyrim offer up large sums of money, opening war funds the Nords have been pooling for years.

State of Anvil: Karlirah Blackheart fled from the Imperial City to Anvil after the Elder Council dissolved. Karlirah immediatly fortified the city and took control of the surrounding hills, ruling with an iron fist. The people of Anvil adored their new leader, as did the Fighters guild, who flocked to Anvil to join Blackhearts forces. After a Redgaurd Emissary visited Anvil, a fleet of ships sailed down the coast from Hammerfell, immediately pledging loyalty to Karlirah Blackheart as long as Hammerfell was properly thanked after the conflict resolved. (Vilamon of Kvatch also included in this faction.)
Lands extend to about 3 miles from Skingrad and Chorrol.
Wealth: As a whole the army has medium wealth. Some soldiers having Individual wealth from travels and adventures.

Kingdom of Morrowind: Vonden Darothril was quick to establish himself in Cheydinhal, and call on Morrowind to help him destroy Cyrodil and claim the Imperial City as a second capital. However sure of his position Vonden may be, he is nothing but Helseths pawn. He has proclaimed himself Prince of Morrowind and holds himself of great importance.
To the border of the Skyrim Republic to the north, from Fort Grief to Abandoned mine to the south, and the eastern shore of Lake Rumare.
Wealth: Between average and high, The Houses pooling money together.

Blackwood Rebels: Ri'Vassa of Bravil and Hathei Jah of Leyawiin with large support from Black Marsh and Elsewyr. The weaker of the factions, they will need to use trickery and strategy to compete with the other factions.
Bordering Kingdom of Morrowind, the Old Empire, and controlling all of Blackwood and area.
Wealth: No information is known on the wealth of the Blackwood Rebels.

I am merely to some degree utilising a fun revolutionary idea.

I'd probably join this, I just have a couple of nitpicks:

Mournhold Reborn should be the Kingdom of Morrowind with Cheydinhal as one of Helseth's fiefs. I think he's proven himself ambitious enough to vy for the Emperor's throne.

Is all of Skyrim a republic, or does the Skyrim Republic constitute only the territories that Fjorkvar controls?

Mhm, It does need a bit of rethinking.
I was thinking of it as more of the Territories backed by the Provinces.
I'll change it a bit.

Thanks for the suggestion, i've had hardly any votes and you seem to be the only reply.

And yes, it is just the territories under Fjorkvar, he may well be absorbed into the main of Skyrim, but for now they are keeping him slightly apart in case he fails.

In that case maybe Fjorkvar's dominion 'ought to be billed as the Nordic Republic of _ and Cheydinhal as the County of Cheydinhal, with the Count a subject of Mournhold rather than the Empire. Your call.

Hmm, yes.

For Cheydinhal it will become the Princeship of Morrowind, with Indarys as an Advisor.

As for Fjorkvar, Skyrim Republic of Bruma? Skryim Republic of Fjorkvar Whitebeard?
Peoples Republic of Skyrim?
Skyrim Territorial Republic?

I like this idea, this is the kind of thing where multiple characters are good. I'd like to have a political character, and some combat characters. The combat might be hard to manage, do you plan on running this alone.

I plan on accepting any and all help offered to me.

I plan on playing Fjorkvar Whitebeard, and either the Count of Skingrad or Chorrol, Or an Imperial General under Fjorkvar.

Basically, i was hoping to get good quality RPers to help with 1-3 factions each perhaps.

If you want to help, go ahead, i have faith you would do great.

In the rules you say "This is not a Seige of sentinel ripoff". However, near the end of the post you mention that this is intended to be a "Lesser" Seige of sentinel. How is that not a ripoff?

I'm pretty sures he means that it will be inspired by and similar to siege of setinel, and out of respect for the great RP he said it would be lesser than it.
EDIT: Also please only accept good RPers, almost everyone that has posted on this is a good RPer, like Spider Pig and Forrestgump, but too avoid being punished for flaming I won't mention any names of poor RPers you should avoid.

Nah, I don't hate you, I just think your RPing skills need work, they have improved though, but mostly just speech wise. Back onto the RP, I think about 1-3 solid RPers at the head of each faction should be good
EDIT:You can PM if you want some pointers, if you don't atleast read the So You Think You Can RP Guide thoroughly and take it by heart, especially when it mentions go into detail about everything.

This is what I've been looking for. Something to tide me over till a certain RP moves to its next chapter, but shall shall remain nameless.

I'm all about the Legion, and would love to roll a General in charge of a Legion, and Ocato if need be. If it continues on, I might make more characters.

Just a few questions though:

Is it war yet, or just the calm in the air before all hell breaks loose?

I would guess the other factions aren't too friendly with Ocato right?

All the factions mentioned are hostile against each other,
Up until now they've just aggitated each other through things like, attacking supply routes, merchants, razing the occasional outward building,
When you start, it will be just as everyone is starting to get fed up, and are beginning to mobilize troops et cetera.

So far, What everyone has offered to be, i am %100 okay with.

Blademaster, i would love for you to play Ocato, if i decide to play one of the 3 imperials, i would also like you to play the other IF you have time.
Forrest would be a great Dunmer, could you play the factions main General + Indarys? Spider would be good for Dunmer also, but if he likes, he could be part of the Nordic forces, possibly leading a company of raiders.

I still need people for the Anvil Ra Gada Faction, and the Blackwood Faction.
I'm willing to hand Blackwood over to one person, but the Redgaurd faction will require either one person who can run about 6 characters, or 2 people.

Don't forget, you COULD play multiple factions, if done fairly.

Anyone causing this to move too fast will get virtually stomped. Notice how SoS may go as slow as 1 post per day? I obviously want this a bit faster, but nothing like what happened with Dead Horde.
Roleplayers like Wooly will be Footsoldiers and the like.
I would expect anyone with enough time, to play of course, commanding roles, maybe a political figure or two, and a footsoldier. We can't have completely nameless emotionless troops.
And i expect decent consideration of Morale.

With hockey winding down, but school and work going up, I think I'll have enough time to make one or two posts a day, more on weekends, but if it moves as fast as the Dead Horde, I won't be able to keep up.

If need be, I can do Ocato, the two Counts (SKingrad and Chorrol) as well as a General. But I expect more people to join so thats only for an extreme.

I'll join if the summerset isles get a stake in this. Like a base being set up near anvil. Calendras could be an officer in the Fleet. Ah...the many faces of Calendras.

@ Faldom: Thank you, I'm honored that you think I'm a good RPer :)

Alright, but remember, the Fighters guild has essentially flocked to Anvil and Kvatch, so you've got a lot of undisciplined (Although fairly skilled) soldiers, in addition to Redgaurds.
You CAN mount large organised attacks but due to the nature of Redgaurds, and the Adventurous nature of the Fighters Guild you have immense skill with less discipline.
Fighters guild would be probably better used as Militia type.

As for Spider Pig...

Summerset isles are too far away to really be all that involved.
Depending, they could take this as a chance to gain faith from the Empire, and kill a [censored]load of Dunmer in the process. So they would send a fleet around and upriver to the Imperial City,
Or they decide Anvil looks tasty, so they reform the Aldmeri Dominion, and begin to kick some ass. I like the first better though.
It is also possible they come in as Mercenaries to help Blackwood, as they will try to get help from warrior more skilled than their own.
Such seemingly poor area having gold to spare for mercs will be explained.

I would much rather you in one of the existing factions, depending on how many people join.

So far i want someone to join Faldom, by taking control of Kvatch. And some Argonians and Khajiit are needed.

Everyone plannign on joining, read this: http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=810277

Cyrodil is the heart of the Empire, controlling all of Tamriel.
With that shattered, Tamriel is free of the Empire, and rush to crush it completely, and expand their lands.
This offers chances for new trade routes and resources, something everyone needs.

Also, the Elder Council is made up of influential people from various provinces, so their influence should be great enough to call for help.

And to Spider Pig once more, perhaps you could be part of a Summerset Isles force, as Ocato is an Altmer.
