I'm sorry if this has been asked already I'm not sure but what do you guys think about being able to further customize your character with some tattoos or tribal/clan war paint like the Apaches? Maybe have some tattoos specifically for a guild of your choice to show your loyalty and represent it. Perhaps some piercings may be nice too.What do you guys think?

In fairness this doesn't necessarily have much to do with character creation.

I like the OP's suggestions that your tattoes or warpaints may have signifance like an allegiance to a clan, guild or other faction.

It would also be cool if you could create your own designs and chose where on your body you wear them.

On a similar note, there was an idea in a thread about law that suggested you could be branded when you commit a crime, marking you out as a murderer or theif etc.

All in all, I like the idea that you'd collect tattoes, markings, brands, scars as you progress. I like the idea you earn them through your actions.
