War Priest CW Justification?

Post » Sat Feb 01, 2014 1:45 pm

After reading a recent thread in the last week or two about a war priest, I decided to make one myself.

Male Nord

One-Handed (maces only)

Restoration (all resto spells left hand)

Alteration (for atronach perk and magic resistance)

Heavy Armor

Smithing

Enchanted items to enhance restoration and restoration cost reduction.

He's an agent of Mara, does good for others, hunts daedra, their worshipers, other aboninations, yadda yadda. My question is can a "priest" of this sort justify joining his fellow Nord brothers and sisters on the Stormcloak side of the CW?

Of course he can. He fights for a free Skyrim and rids them of the foul corruption that is the Legion and the Thalmor.

See while I agree with you, he might not. The CW sides are a matter of opinion. But then again, I couldn't see why he would join the Imperials, being that he's a nord.

Id say so, the Thalmor are a blight on the land of Skyrim. The legion is meh, whatever, but when the Thalmor destroy your own heritage and people...you bet he can!

Of course not. You're a priest. As far as I know, you made vows of non-violence. Besides, your build and concept would fit a Vigilant of Stendarr more.

I should make this a poll. This is good.

Edit: Poll is up and running.

While you don't pick a side, the Thalmor roam free, arresting your fellow brothers and sisters, interrogating and torturing them for worshiping a divine that the Thalmor don't acknowledge. Only by joining your fellow brothers and sisters in war can Skyrim be free of these foul elves.

But see, if I lived exactly by those rules, I wouldn't be fighting at all.

Best reason yet.

Of course a war priest can join in Stormcloaks. I see it in way that he must. Stormcloaks are fighting not only for the freedom of Skyrim but also for Talos. That being the matter they are fighting for the Divines - all nine of them.

Priest of what? If it's a priest of Shor, you know what you need to do. ;)

I decided that since he specializes in restoration, he's an agent of Mara.

Mara was the handmaiden of Kyne but is all about peace and reconciliation, so I probably would stay out of the war.

An agent of Mara would never join a war or a cause that entails blood-shed of other innocents.[Imperial Legion]

Stay out of it.

Know Kyne, Brother! She is the Kiss at the End, and Her Symbol is the Hawk.

He said one of his skills is One handed... I'm not certain he took a no violence vow.

Ofcourse! Why not?

You can do it not only for the rights of Skyrim's opressed. But also for the right of worship.

And well:

Spoiler
I believe that there's a family in Riften who had a daughter. She was a healer too. And although she was not a warrior, she did join the Stormcloaks to heal wounded soldiers. So I don't see why a War Priest couldn't join.

Of course. Anyone who has a love for Skyrim and believes the Empire is doing wrong by it can justifiably join the Stormcloaks. Not to mention they could use the Healers.

Priests of Mara aren't really fighters. But at least more so than Priestesses of Dibella, who are lovers...

Sweet new avi btw :tops:
