Name: Fadlyn Omavel
Race: Dunmer
Age: 190 (Appears late 50s)
Birthsign: The Mage
Class: General
Skills: Expert at Destruction and Blade, Journeyman of Heavy Armor and Restoration Apprentice of Athletics and Alteration.
General Appearance:
Tall, dark skinned. His hair is white, he is bald on the top of his head and he has the hair at the sides and back gathered into a knot at the back (think of the “gathered” hairstyle in Oblivion). He has more than a few wrinkles on his face due to his age.
Height: 5' 11"
Build: He is not quite overweight, yet not skinny either. Distinctly average.
Eye Colour: Red
Skin Colour: Ashen grey, almost blue. Normal Dunmer colour.
Hair Colour: White
Clothing/Armour:
He wears a suit of ebony armour. Though, he is seen wearing ordinary clothes when not at the head of an army.
Weapons: He uses his Uncle’s old High Ordinators ebony scimitar and no shield, relying on his speed, armour and shield spells to block and dodge his enemies' blows. He also has an old Imperial broadsword from his days in the Legion which he keeps with him, though rarely uses, though he is proud to display it on his person.
Personality:
Slow to anger, he is broad minded, intelligent, calm, considerate and friendly most of the time. He disassociates himself from Great House Indoril (as well as all other Great Houses), of which he is a part of.
At the head of an army, he is strict, believing discipline is the key to victory. When on the battlefield, he is ruthless and cunning, though patient, preferring to let the enemy come to him and make some sort of mistake for him to exploit. He respects all races, including the Argonians. He believes the Argonians have indirectly helped the Dunmer throw off the shackles of tradition.
Beliefs and Hobbies:
He is also an author, occasionally, he can be seen scribbling in notebooks. He mostly writes poetry, history and guides (for officers, generals and the like).
He has tried to remain distanced from politics, but in recent years he has found himself dragged into the fray. He sides mostly with the liberal, younger councillors. He thinks that Barenziah should be given more power and the old Great Houses should be dissolved.
He believes that his kinsmen are fools for worshipping Azura, he (not inaccurately) believes all the Dunmer's problems are her fault and that she is a spiteful, malevolent deity. He himself does not worship any god in particular.
In recent years, he has been working on trying to find a suitable alternative to horses for the Dunmer armies, in order to negate that disadvantage and create an advantage over Resdayn‘s enemies. So far, experiments with Alits, Silt Striders, Guars and Kagouti have yielded few promising results.
Biography/History:
Born into an upper-middle class family from Necrom, his father was a slave trader and his mother was a priestess. He received a decent education in all things mundane, history, arithmetic, reading, writing et cetera. However, he proved to be proficient with destruction magic and blades. He was trained in these skills by his uncle, an Ordinator.
At the age of twenty-six, he moved to Caldera in order to join the Mages Guild so he could further his magical talents. After proving himself a competent mage, he was sent to the Imperial College of Battlemages in Cyrodiil. He became a battlemage in the Imperial Legion.
After he had served twenty years, rather than retire, Fadlyn remained in the legion and continued to rise in the ranks, eventually becoming a general and commanded a legion of his own. He married, around this time, to a Dunmer woman named Thelmi Nolar.
A few years later, his wife had two sons named Velos and Ridven.
After the Oblivion Crisis, the Empire fell into disarray, Fadlyn retired and attempted to become a writer. He published a few books, poems and biographies, most of which were rather successful, receiving popularity all over Tamriel. Fadlyn’s new peace came crashing down alongside the Ministry of Truth. A chain of events led to the Argonians invading and occupying Morrowind. He participated in some of the fighting around Mournhold before aiding the Royal Guards evacuate Queen Barenziah. They fled to Blacklight, in the north-west, the city which was to become the new capital of Morrowind.
Barenziah assigned Fadlyn a small, mixed force of Buoyant Armigers, Ordinators and militia to drive the Skaal people from Solstheim.
He succeeded in his task and managed to defeat the Skaal, despite only controlling a force of around two hundred. He was made a high ranking general in the new Dunmeri Army. A thing which the Dunmer were sorely lacking.
He is currently one of the most important generals in Resdayn and is the head of a military academy, which he founded to help train the officers and generals of the new nation in the ways of warfare. He now lives in Blacklight with his wife, Thelmi, and sons (now twenty-one years old).
