War of the Fallouts

Like the title says: which is your favorite and why. Character customization, storyline, style, etc?

As for the second question, I realize the characters are determined by the player, BUT:

1) I believe the writing style is definitely different from game to game, and as such the protagonist (the player) is given different personality patterns to choose from. For example, one may quickly notice that the Lone Wanderer REALLY misses his father, whereas the Courier can be a hysterically blunt bastard ("It looks like the place got torn up by two giant [censored]-bots") and has a habit of saying "TF is a _____?" (Chicago, fish, etc.)

2) Some characteristics are practically implied by the games themselves, or flat-out given. For example, pictures of the Fallout 1 protagonist also seem to imply he's Albert Cole, who has a short personality description. The Vault Dweller also has his own memoires written by Avellone. Chosen has several implied actions included within New Vegas. The Lone Wanderer also gets involved with more intellectual quests (defusing a bomb, outwitting a supercomputer president, decoding a code to Project Purity) whereas the Courier does a nice job of charming ladies (Red Lucy, Sarah Weintraub, Cass, Joanna) and never [censored] dying (got shot in the head twice, survived the Sierra Madre, survived the Divide (twice), survived the Big Empty; all of those are referred to as "no man's land" and less than 5 people are reported surviving each of those locations) and being lucky as hell (in the perfect position to overtake New Vegas, the perfect position to rob the Sierra Madre). You could of course, for example, make the Courier gay in your playthrough, but if you do all quests in the Mojave, the game seems to steer you towards being a ladykiller instead, as you'll woo Red Lucy, Sarah, Joanna (sort of) and Cass has endings specific to a straight and gay Courier.

3) You can always sum them up by their deeds. The Vault Dweller stopped the master's army, the Chosen One stopped the Enclave, etc etc.

So that's what I'm asking as far as protagonists go. Based on the IMPLIED protagonist characteristics, which is your favorite. And of course, feel free to argue what you think the IMPLIED characteristics actually are.
