I fell in love with warhammers ever since i got this

The guards even comment on it, saying something like "Thats one big hammer."

Volendrung is the most excessive-appearing weapon in the game, and I love it for that very reason.

It's just too bad that it literally does the exact same amount of damage as an Orcish Warhammer, despite being 5 times its size. -.-

I love them all, but I've always been partial to greatswords.

Sadly few looked very good in this game, so I ended up sticking to the Skyforged Steel Greatsword throughout. (upgraded to Legendary). Still competitive thanks to my ring, necklace and gauntlets at all boost two-handed weapon damage.

If axes and hammers had hung a little lower on the back, I'd have got for them though. Some were epic looking. The issue was that I hate how high the hilt sticks out above your shoulder.

I like battle axes. I don't like 2h weapons in general. To slow. My one handed is 100

I really like Greatswords, the finishing moves with those are awesome, but Battleaxes are a close second. I am currently using Wuuthrad, lovin it.

It is a shame the axe bleed out appears pretty useless as in theory it sounds pretty good.

I fell into using axes when I found one stronger than my cruddy sword and just kind of kept doing it. There's no major RP rationale or anything.

Greatswords for me, can't go wrong by impaling someone on a greatsword. Plus the extra speed of the weapon as opposeed to the other two. Better crits also.

Im with the OP on small chicks with enormous swords. Ive always liked the design of swords as opposed to hammers or axes as well, I feel theyre more elegant. I wish they had gone with a different design for the ebony greatsword, was hoping for something closer to the dwarven greatsword in looks but with some nice trimmings.

Depends on the type of enemy I'm up against. Usually Greatsword because it's a bit faster, and its really cool to get a critical strike and one-shot some unlucky bandit. If an opponent is wearing heavy armor I go for the Warhammer. I will admit that Battleaxes are the coolest looking though, especially the Glass Battleaxe!

My Warrior has both the 2h and 1h trees filled out. I go 2h axe and 1h sword when dual wielding.

You do realize that they exist IRL?

In real life a military hammer is a one-handed weapon with a head that weighs usually around a pound. Your average framer's claw hammer has a lot in common with a real fighting hammer. Giant sledgehammers weren't used in combat by any serious military because they're just WAY too slow and tiring.

As to the poll question: Two-handed swords. They're quick enough to move between attack and defense more fluidly and often let you get in two hits when an enemy is staggered instead of one. I tried the other two-handers and found them unpleasing. The hammers were just ridiculously slow and forced me power-attack half the time to try and drop an enemy immediately instead of getting bogged down into a back and forth battle. And the axe was an awkward compromise.

Greatswords because of the aesthetics, faster swing speed, and critical hits.

Swords. Axes are for barbarians and hammers are for cavemen.
