*** WARNING NVIDIA 314.07 DRIVER ***

Post » Tue Feb 19, 2013 9:30 pm

I just downloaded and installed the following driver

http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/57096

I upgraded from the 310.90 driver which was working very well with GW2, PS2 and other games. I used Treexy Driver Fusion to do a clean install. After installing the 314.07 driver and enabling SLI, I rebooted and experienced the following issues

1. .NET Framework error caused by Alienware Command Center Thermal Controller which caused my case and cpu fan controller application to fail to load.

2. 3DMark Advanced v1.00 crashed on application startup and refused to load.

I was not experiencing either one of these issues before installing the 314.07 driver. If 3DMark Advanced fails to load after installing a new video driver, it is a sign there is something seriously wrong with the driver. I uninstalled the 314.07 driver, ran DriverFusion and reinstalled the 310.90 driver. Everything is back to normal. 3DMark now loads and runs as it should.

I do realize that 314.07 is the R313 driver that is recommended by Nvida for Crysis 3 and I would like to use it but I cannot justify doing so until these issues are resolved. The problem is not just with 3DMark but with my Thermal Controller driver. I would rather use an outdated driver than have my system overheat while running Crysis 3. It should be noted that the 310.90 driver includes a Crysis 3 profile.

My system configuration is as follows:

Alienware Aurora R3
2x GTX 660 ti 2 GB SLI
Liquid Cooled i7 2600k overclocked to 4.1 GHz
8 GB 1866 DDR3

Please post your issues with the 314.07 driver, if any here.

But this might not be fault of NVIDIA driver. There are definitely more variables in your equation that could cause problems (why do you use Treexy Driver Fusion?).

Yes, there are a lot of variables. However, I have never seen any version of 3DMark refuse to load for any WHQL release driver from Nvidia. There is something seriously wrong with that driver.

DriverFusion is DriverSweeper renamed.
