guys you whine about hackers then they take counter measures and you whine about counter measures
best would be to have 2 exes, the single player one with ALL cvars unlocked and multyplayer one with only things they want to be used and integrity check on pak files.
You have no **** idea what you're talking about, you can't cheat through the autoexec (unless Crytek allowed debug commands, which I doubt, maybe, hopefully...) there is literally no point in disabling cvars, at all. This isn't a counter measure, it is a measure by which to piss the community off.
You are right for the most parts of what you said. But when it comes to MP and CVar exploits you are wrong. For example some CVar configs could be used to tweak nanovision to a point that would give players that use them an advantage about others that don't. As soon as CVars do adress any kind of shader they can be abused for a personal advantage. Its just the way the engine works and the best way to deal with it, as some kind of hotfix against cheaters, is to just block them.
Am I glad about how Crytek does adress this issue? For sure not, I really would like to see all of the CVars working, but as long as it helps to get rid of the cheaters I don't mind it and wait to see what else they got to get rid of them.
