Warning, Pre orders from Game.

Post » Wed Mar 05, 2014 6:06 pm

Hello, I've worked for game and have my best mate currently working in the head office of Game.

When I saw they'd be one of the few companies selling the Imperial version I was really happy however, when I remembered that if you preorder you get the early access I was wondering about the delivery of the game.

Would it arrive on the 4th when the game is open to everyone, or would I get it before the 5 days so I could do the early access...

I spoke to two people in customer service aswell as my mate and they all said we'd get it for the full opening, NOT for early access.

So I'm wondering, will there be anywhere we can download the client ready for early access for the people that pre ordered from game?

Don't they send an email with a code to allow you to download the client? When i pre-ordered Football Manager with GAME i was emailed a code allowing me to access the game two weeks early on Steam.

What I've been told and experienced is that you will have to download it and you will get an access code for your early release. I recieved my code already so I believe what I've been told.

this has been asked a lot already. You need the code from the box to play. see you on launch day

unless they email you like some companies have done before.

Well,i cancelled my physical version from game because i would not have the game for release due to delivery time. My early access code stills being valid anyway. They told me they couldnt send to me the boxed code via email.

You should receive your code for pre order items and stuff straight after you've purchessed it.

Game will NOT however send you a link to download the client.
Which is why I'm asking if anyone has read anywhere that they'll allow people to download a client from somewhere.

you may want to contact support and find out you may be able to download the beta client, it will be updated to live version .

Edit: I forgot you need a code to get early access, no clue on that contact Game and tell them you need a code for 5 days early access. If they say they dont have that give it back and buy the digital version.

I think this is kinda ontopic ? :

So , I bought the standard physical edition , I went to the store and got a preorder box that contained a code, I redeemed this code at my account, it now says 3days early acces , but nothing else... I can't download the client yet or anything. Is this normal? I think I should be able to download the client , but I'm not sure.

You can't download the client until those 3 days early access start.

I was kind of curious how the early access worked and assumed I would receive it in the mail on the 30th or even the 29th but you'll receive a code?

if people look at their order information they will see this (We’ll also contact you at your account’s registered email address with information about early game access as we get closer to game release in April 2014.) so they will contact you by email, when the client can be updated or downloaded.

When you entered the early access code on your account there should have been links to download the game client.

if you're in the beta, you don't even need to do that. Beta client will work.

There's no reason to cancel a physical copy because you won't get the box on early access day. Most stores won't even have them in the building at that point.

GAME.co.uk have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Completely inept agents, that obviously don't read previous contact from customers and send the same email templates that doesn't answer the query.

I wouldn't take whatever they told you as verbatim. Customer service in any company have no idea when they will be dispatching a pre-order, only an estimate that they're given by management. They only hope it will arrive before the 4th of April and if it doesn't arrive by then, your account is frozen until you enter the code that is inside the box (assuming you take advantage of the early access).

You'd be waiting for what, exactly?

If you're in beta you have the game client and don't need the box for that.

You'd have the early access.

If it was a 5 day code you should be able to get the imperial stuff for early access.

There is no problem...

THough I do hear GAME in general svcks.
