Warriors against annoying frost attacks?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 1:35 pm

So yea im playing a warrior. And its annoying to the maximum when those mages start flinging ice spikes at me. And yippee my movement speed slows to a snail's pace. What the blazes am i supposed to do when i get slowed then?
How do you deal with frost based attacks?

Also, does frost resistance decrease the slow effect? The slow effect is extremely pissing.

Resist frost/magicka potions seems to work for me.

That stops the slow down effect? I find that hard to believe.

Get them before they can get you. Slow Time shout+sprint=room dead before they can get a single shot off. Pretty epic, imo; i save it for only the toughest enemies!

You could try using Unrelenting Force before they fling an icicle and rush towards them. If you're the sword and shield kind, shield bash them once you're at range to lessen the annoyance.
If that doesn't work very well, try using a Ward spell; unless your character is a pure Warrior and refuses to use magic of any kind.

I think the "SLOW" effect from frost attacks are over the top in my opinion. The Stamina Drain effect is good enough.

Everytime I see a frost atronach summoned, I turn tail and run, because of the annoying "SLOW" effect; not because I am afraid.

Lightning Attacks in this game are seriously underpowered when compared to the other elements. Fire has splash damage and Frost has slowing effects. Lightning does have magicka drain, but that is absolutley worthless since npc mages have infinite magicka.

Very carefully. Lots of sneaking about. After killing my first Necromage I got tired of treading so lightly, and just flipped out and turned into a werewolf. Necromancers never tasted so good. Had only a sliver of health left after the fight though, but Azura's Star is now mine.

Slow effect does seem quite overpowered; at level 36 or so with my mage character i tried using frostbite (the continuous stream of frost attack) that deals 12 damage per second or something. And wow. No melee characters could get near me. i just had to spray them with the frost and they would be SEVERELY SLOWED, like they might as well not be moving. :spotted owl:
And of course the positions are switched now. "whoopeee fling ice storm fling ice spikes can't get meeeeee"

Hide behind a tree/rock/whatever and make them come to you. Just don't fight the Icemage on his/her own terms.
