Was Azura responsible for the fall of the Dwemer and the Hou

And after exiting the heart chamber, perhaps.

Hmm, I thought he disappeared after disenchanting the heart? Though I can't see how he could've been truly killed, in the mortal sense of the word, if he was at The Trial of Vivec -- which, AFAIK, is considered canon?

Are you talking about Vivec or Dagoth Ur?

Neither disappears after disenchanting the Heart. Dagoth Ur usually falls in the lava, but that's not supposed to happen, you're supposed to finish off his non-deified state after removing the Heart. His death animation is the same on that he has when you kill him the first time, which coupled with the fact that Vivec himself states afterward that he isn't even sure if Ur is truly dead, and coupled again with the fact that Ur was already dead anyway, and it makes you wonder just how much you accomplished.

Now something came into mind, Luagar2. When Red Mountain went boom, at the start of the Red Year, if Ur was still alive, would that mean he'd be shot out like a gun from Red Mountain?

Did you just say somebody was more badass than Divayth Fyr?

I think something is supposed to happen, not sure if it's the moderators job or not - I'm wanting to say its a stoning, but I thought it was more severe than that.

All I'm saying is that there's no House Fyr mentioned in the Loveletter. Know what's mentioned?

House Sul.

And House Jaroon. Who the hell is Jaroon anyway? Some jabroni wannabe. Whoever he or she was, they're no match for Sul.

And before anyone brings up the fact that Sul as a surname appears several times among Dunmer people, I should point out that answer is boring and therefore wrong and that Sul most likely ends up uniting the Dunmer people and leading them as Hortator or something. Maybe.

It doesn't help that time travel and TES are independently confusing. Together, they're mind-boggling confusing.

Well, if you really need to split them, best do it with a really sharp blade. Also, make sure you chop vertically; had some silly cultist try to do it horizontally, and it ended badly.

Come, don't split hares now.

Am now imagining Hellmouth has two pens and a box of rabbits and he's dividing them up.

Now something came into mind, Luagar2. When Red Mountain went boom, at the start of the Red Year, if Ur was still alive, would that mean he'd be shot out like a gun from Red Mountain?
Dagoth Ur ostensibly was being kept reincarnated by some weird mojo with the Heart. So when it went poof, his connection to it likely also went with it. So I doubt it. Besides, everything that happened at the Battle of Red Mountain that pertains to Ur has resolved itself. He's not related with the disappearance of the Dwemer.

Who was the first of the Chimer to discover the Numidium?

Who helped talk the Chimer into going to war with the Dwemer, a war which would force Kagrenac to act prematurely?

But anyway, I picture Dagoth Ur in such circumstance standing in the midst of the erupting lava and laughing maniacally as it sores up around him without singeing so much as a hair.

Something interesting about Dagoth Ur - he doesn't leave a corpse when he dies. Either time.

All other beings who gained godhood through the Heart did...including the Ash Vampires and Tribunal. They all left corpses.

I'm not sure if this is meant to signify anything or if Bethesda simply chose to only give him one death animation. It's true he falls into the lava 98% of my play-throughs but I've managed to make him fall on the bridge a time or two and fight him after disenchanting the Heart, and he simply disappears upon reaching zero health. There's an empty space you can loot but it contains nothing.

At least when you draw Lord Dagoth he looks the way he's supposed to.

Have you tried typing "Dagoth Ur" into deviantart lately?

Fangirls have a tendency of portraying him just.... tragically wrong. He's not an androgynous emo under that mask, people. He's a three eyed, bearded monster. And he has muscles. Big, hard muscles. He's not some anorexic high school sophomore who listens to screamo and writes bad poetry. He's a full grown man-beast and the God of Red Mountain. SHEESH.

Curse you Hairdo, Curse you! Searching for Dagoth Ur on deviant art was almost as bad as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imlyVV0yYKo

Don't get me wrong. Some of the fan artwork for Elder Scrolls is really, really good....

Others make me shudder and question the motivations and essential humanity of fangirls.

Most of the really head-against-desk inducing ones seem to come from Russia for some reason. I always thought Russians were all about big, hairy men but the typical Tribunal/First Council art work seems to involve men who exist on a diet of carrots and water making out with one another. While I'm certain the Tribunal were all polyamorous and so was Dagoth, that doesn't excuse the horrible interpretations of their character design or the fact that a 13 year old girl could beat them at arm wrestling the way these people draw them.

DO.NOT.WANT.

I know exactly what you're talking about and agree with you. It seems like in the fandom there are a lot of artists who don't imagine the male characters looking like...well...men.

Because of Vivec's statement about Dagoth Ur - "he was of Nerevar's generation, older than we" - I've always imagined Voryn being the equivalent of a man in his late forties to early fifties around the time the Battle of Red Mountain took place (of course since he was a mer we're probably talking about him being over one hundred depending on how long the Chimer lifespan usually was). Perhaps some gray was just starting to appear in his hair.

But when some artists depict him as pretty, teenage looking Dunmer, I cringe as well.

Exactly. (I've actually said that twice now in this thread, but no matter)

I also just noticed that we have an absurd amount of emoticons now.

It bears repeating due to awesome.

And we can cringe together, Forest. I think there's a lot of really awesome DA fan art. That one guy who draws stuff like http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=§ion=&global=1&q=dagoth+ur#/d17r5g4 almost always gets it right.

But lets face it, there aren't really any girls on the internet. Somehow I'm being tricked; aliens perhaps, shapeshifting ones.

I'm sticking with shapeshifting aliens, because we have to be realistic, and guys on the internet having girlfriends is just as fictitious as the girls themselves.
