Was Azura's Star Patched?

I think that video is either fake, or this glitch was patched (stop patching glitches that don't harm the game game designers..let us have a little fun?). I tied this and died right at Azura's line when the screen fades you back outside the start, yet NOTHING! I respawned but she didn't finish and no star was added.

So, was this patched or is it just very rare?

It was fixed in one of the first few patches of the game.

That's the idea. When something doesn't work as it's supposed to, you fix it.

Glad it was fixed. Glitches and bugs should be fixed. Wished more things were fixed.

There's one thing that really boggles my mind. Skyrim is the first game where I've seen people complaining when the devs fix the bugs. Usually people want bugs fixed but in Skyrim's case it's the other way around.

It's really, REALLY bizarre.

Example: I've seen people refusing to use the unofficial patch because it fixes restoration loop. That's an insanely obvious bug, glitch, whatever, yet some people think that's an intended function.

That's nothing. For Minecraft I saw people campaigning to get bugs/glitches re-added in the game after seeing them fixed. How boggled is your mind now? :P

I feel sorry for Bethesda. If they don't patch bugs, gamers complain. If they do patch bugs, gamers complain. They can't win.

You don't understand: Bug, is what makes the game unplayable. What gives an advantage/shortcut, unintended or not, is a "feature".

Secret chest in Dawnstar (because freebies) anyone? :P

Can't argue with that.

Still bizarre though.

Yeah.....theres no reason to stop the 'Fortify Resto Loop' exploit from operating.....its an unintended advantage sure.....but not "broken".....it does not damage the game play.....only a person of mean spirit (euphemistic) would deny it to others without good reason.

Even if you did not wish to use it in game play or RP (I do not use it) you can see it would be a great way to test game operation.

An amusing irony is that to for it to be "fixed" you use the 'Unofficial Patch' meaning you are on PC. If you are on PC you can use the console command to attain god mode regardless.....so if the aim of the patch creator was stuff people from enjoying the advantages of the exploite....then they failed.....but double irony.....they will have already realised that before issuing the patch.

Thankfully on console we have no such interferrance..buuuuuut then we don't get the good bug fixes either.

I must be lucky though....because I seldom get any 'bugs' that cause a problem.

I did find the CoW doors to the Hall of Elements jammed once....thankfully entering a dorm and getting on the roof allowed me to access the Hall of Elements from its roof door, and then reactivate the doors from behind...thus re-setting them. Oh and Alvor has lain dead on the road for weeks now.....must be getting smelly!

Haven't you heard? USKP fixes are officially getting into the game. Getting Skyrim SE, means you'll have to play orderly!!!

No they don't -at least I don't believe so. But it'd be fun if it happened :D

What benefit does an extra broken Azura's Star provide? Can you still turn that in to get the
Black Star after getting Azura's Star? The quest looked completed even after the glitch in the video.

The way some of these fixes are implement can be questionable at times, but all-in-all I guess I'll still take the myriad of fixes over a handful of questionable ones. Such as preventing you being able to pickpocket certain NPCs at all in order to stop the player from "accidently" pickpocketing a quest item too early for fear of breaking the quest. That to me is too much nannying. Another bug that got fixed by USLEEP was that you no longer can wear a circlet while donning the Arch Mage's robes with the hood up. Sure that makes it consistent with the rest of the robe items in the game, but I couldn't help but wonder if the Arch Mage's robes were designed that way on purpose.

Wait, USKP is getting officially added to SSE by BGS or do you simply mean console players will have the option to add it to their game through mods? If through mods, they still have to choose to use it.

The Black Star is said in-game to "no longer hold the white souls of lesser creatures", so the Unofficial Skyrim Patch fixed it being able to hold all souls. I'm not aware of preventing the player from pickpocketing anyone -- you can't pickpocket the Nord heroes in Sovngarde, but that's because doing so could make them hostile; there are a few keys you're no longer allowed to pickpocket away from their owners, but these are to prevent problems with quest progression in on instance and poor quest design in another.

Circlets clip with the Arch-Mage's robes and you can just wear the version without the hood if you want to wear a circlet. No other robes with hoods allow you to wear a circlet with them.

As for the restoration loop, the fix was originally submitted as corrected erroneous data on enchantment magic effects. It wasn't until later it was realized that it was fixing the loop. It's clearly not intended behavior, but if you absolutely must have it compared to myriad other fixes, I'm afraid that's your own problem.

I would tend to agree with Schmoe that USLEEP is too heavy handed at times. This is a prime example. Maybe the dialog should have been changed to match the functionality of the star. Black soul gems have always been able to hold white souls. In my view the dialog was wrong and if anything should have been fixed it was the dialog.

Thankfully, there are only a handful of USLEEP changes I disagree with and I know how to mod myself so I can undo any of the changes I don't like.

IMO, too much nannying by outright disabling pickpocketing on some NPCs. There should be a better way to remedy that.

Thankfully I don't use the Archmage's robes much anyway and I did see that USLEEP provides two versions. The one you can wear a circlet with has one of the enchantments removed and as a result only has two instead of the typical triple enchantment. Odd coincident that it happens to be the Archmage's robes that "happens" to be "bugged" and let you wear a circlet in the vanilla game where other robes do not, and the only robe with that "bug"

Again though as both Turija and I have mentioned, I'll take the myriad of fixes over handful of small inconveniences.
