Was everyone else's Dragonborn experience this bad

Post » Wed Jun 19, 2013 6:12 am

My experience with the Dragonborn DLC was painful at best. The entire time I strugged with quest breaking bugs at every turn and throughout the whole thing I had to use console commands and exploits to complete what I could. Even now I can't properly get past the Miraak fight segment >: (

Was this just me or was this DLC just badly made?

He's complaining about quest breaking bugs, not difficulty level.

I played without a single bug with Dragonborn. I only suffered 3 bugs with Dawnguard. 2 minor and 1 major.

Only thing was the framerate going poop on me on occasion. It's pretty normal when you're on the PS3 like me.

I played Dragonborn on both PC and Xbox. Had some bugs with the xbox, but none that were gamebreaking. My dragonborn experience has so far been good.

I only get the Miraak invincible bug, but I know a way to prevent it on xbox.

If you're on PC are you using the Unoffical Patches ?

I've been watching Gophers' Dragonborn playthrough and he hasn't had any game breaking bugs.

None so far. I've done most of the quests on the island. I just have a few more places to explore.

Darn....I guess I just had it bad then. The concept is good for a lot of stuff, it's just that it seems I've encountered every possible game breaking bug there is LOL.

For the most part my experience with Dragonborn was pretty good, other than my Xbox occasionally freezing up for no reason. You could try deleting Dragonborn and re-downloading it, I did this with Dawnguard to fix a game-breaking bug that I had and it seemed to work really well.

I had massive frame rate issues with dragonborn dlc which really surprised me as I had absolutely none with dawnguard.

It was very bad at first, being indoors made it less frantic.

Over time it just got less and less (not even sure why), now I play it without much issues but every now and again I still get the complete freeze.

I play on xbox. Regularly clearing my cache with 60gb unused space on my hardrive and skyrim installed.

I had NO issues with Dragonborn on 360 and the freezes didn't start till after patch 1.9. I even had a glitch free fight with Miraak. O.o. Yes strange I know, my 360 has been very compliant. Neither did I have any issues with Dawnguard, only glitched quest I've had in the game was "Blood on the Ice" so I consider myself fortunate.

I'm playing Master level on Xbox 360. I have DB, but not DG. The frequency with which the Xbox hangs has, sadly, increased since I got 1.9 and the DLC (pretty much acquired both at the same time), but I rebooted recently with the cache-clearing button combination on the controller and that seems to have made a big difference. If I was to guess, I'd say the Xbox hangs about once every five hours of game play. I believe my device has 4 gigs of memory.

That's very fortunate, and Blood on the Ice is usually naturally glitched like that. I've almost been as lucky as you on the 360, but I've had two big glitches. One pertained to Esbern's constant following after the main quest. He would tell me to come see Delphine and him whenever I fast-traveled even after I visited their ending scene. I had to start over. The most recent one I had was when my Dragonborn DLC wouldn't load Miraak's scene properly, so I had to download the entire thing again.

Just beat the DLC. I honestly had no problem with it at all.

Sorry that your game must be glitched up.

Consider yourself very lucky. At 1 point I though my copy of skyrim was glitch free, that changed very quickly.

My bug seems to be rooted in the fact that everything seems very slow to process. The game isn't sluggish, but every script the game gets is probably very slow-even frostfall gives me an error saying my script is running too slow, and when I click interaction buttons it takes forever. The dragons don't land so my Miraak fight is unfinishable. Wait.......I hope this ends when I get back to regular Skyrim.......
