Was hoping for no aiming with spells..

Post » Fri Jun 10, 2011 9:44 pm

just saw the latest vids from E3 and that was my major peeve with all the oblivion series..that you have to aim spells and looks like you still need to.

Oh well..game looks amazing otherwise...cant wait!

Umm.. of course you have to aim spells, what did you want, spells that you cast then they automatically go to the nearest creature?

This. Hopefully Bethesda doesn't listen to people like you and streamline it even more

No. You want the worst addition to be added in TES games ever. Please gawd no. Hell no. Regular human beings are fully capable of aiming their spells.

Oblivion series? Yeah, I suspect frost trolling.

well what I meant is at least have a sticky targeting system where you can select the target and stay on target while moving, etc. spells dont have to auto-hit each time, i guess its more the targeting i was referring to.

Heat-seeking spells? Hell no. They wouldn't even work on the undead.

No.

Did you really have a hard time targeting spells in OB?

I can't imagine your aim in FPS games... :o

May as well add homing arrows to the list of things to add to the game :banghead:, what a stupid thing to say

I'm of mixed feeling with this. I honestly would like it if I could choose a target and the expert spellcaster launch their spell at ~the target I chose.

*Since I am not an expert spell caster myself, I am hardly qualified, and the flip side of this is I may be roleplaying a skilled mage that for some reason can't cast spells with the accuracy that an expert would be assumed to have.

This was never a problem in NWN, as the PC could be trusted to handle their task, and cast accurately.

I'm not being hostile. This would make magic, my favorite combat option, absolutely horrible. And if you read his OP, he said the "Oblivion series"

Hmm...

If you didn't have to aim when casting spells that would also mean you aren't able to dodge when enemy npcs, lets say necromancers, aim a destructive spell at you. In games this really, and I mean really PEEVED me, not being able to dodge spells or spells being "magically" homed on to you. Yes thank God Bethesda does not listen to people like you.
