So I was playing Fallout 4 when this happened

Post » Mon Feb 08, 2016 12:41 am

So yesterday I was playing a bit of Fallout 4 when this happened, I've never had this happened before and have no idea what was going on. I managed to capture it as a highlight though so I put it on Youtube with some edits.

Has this every happened to you guys or is this something rare that just happened to me?

Here's the video at youtube:

Lol I've never seen that before, but i don't use power armor so maybe your power armor was the cause of it?

Likely you are over 60 FPS. Quite often in Bethesda's games when you are over 60 FPS game physics can get wonky.

My screen is actually 60hz so I have the sync on to not run things over computer since there is no need. Maybe it went wrong somehow and went over 60 fps for a bit?

Not had it happen with cars, but occasionally I've had explosions set cardboard boxes spinning and circling the room. Sometimes the same with limbs when I dismember someone in vats.

Even on lower FPS some physics can get wonky but it happens more when it is over 60.

I have never seen the cars do that but then I do not have a habit of getting too close to cars. Since I lost a lot of Dead is Dead characters to them, and quite often they have hidden mines near them as well.

Iv'e seen that before on ps4. Sometimes, say a super mutant is running at you and you critical kill him and he goes flying away or into a car then the car goes flying away.

Lol Ive had a car randomly move on me once. Can not remember the exact location but i exited one of the unmarked location buildings bumped a car sitting next to the door and it moved instantly killing me at the same time. Only time I have seen it.

My weirdest moment with cars was seeing one fall from the sky. It was near a freeway, so at the time I assumed that it had fallen from it, despite never seeing it fall like that on previous excursions to the area. However, I learned later that cars falling from the sky is something that occasionally happens in Bethesda's Fallout games. I don't know what causes it, exactly, but it's apparently just a glitch in the game engine. What you experienced may be a similar issue: a momentary hiccup in the game engine that causes unexpected occurrences.

I have seen something odd kinda like this... Dogmeat was biting a raider or whatever and then all of a sudden they both flew up into the air like 80 fett and continued to fight and then fell back down and the raider died... It looked like som kinda of Street Fighter move or something lol

I've never had it happen with cars, but I rarely wear power armor. I see it happen a lot with enemies on the final VATS shot though. A Yao Guai went flying 100m off a cliff once.

Mine too. Limited to 60 hz.

NPC's just can push Cars like Paper. I saw the Duke a few Times pushing "his" Car 100 Meteres into the Air. In some Cases even the Player can push them away. They lose sometimes their Weight. I guess a Bug.

That happened to me also.

Only once though.

I was clearing out Quincy of Gunners when a Raider showed up.

As i was looting his body a car fell on me presumably from the road above.

Quickest death I have ever experienced in the game.

So sudden.

I always wondered if a Gunner pushed it.

Perhaps the linked video explains it.

There is a power armour wearing one stationed on the overpass.

Today an enemy's grenade left my Piper floating face-down 1 foot off the ground. I could give her orders, but she wouldn't follow them and couldn't be stim-packed. When I walked at her, she spun around in place like... something that spins in place. I walked away. Next time I encountered an enemy, she suddenly appeared at my side.

I've had cars been thrown at me. It's one of those details that makes me love the progress of technology.

haha it is kinda neat to see in a way, that happened to my character once I was in close quarters to a yogi bear then all of a sudden I was in the clouds and falling down I'm like "noooooooooo" I don't really remember what happened after I fell down, it was over a month ago, I don't think I died though.

This actually happened to me once. I can't remember how, but I just remember a red car flying into the air, after rubbed up against it. I got a good laugh out of it.

I have seen dogmeat chase cars down the street... bumping them occasionally to get them to keep moving..... Gave me a whole new perspective on him. :D

LOL and the background music and transition edit were helpful in spicing it up.
