So I was Right about the mods. They'r gamebreaking.

Post » Mon Feb 24, 2014 1:28 am

We can see

* flying combatlog with attack number. Already available in WoW

*damage numbers. Already available in WoW and all MMOs as part of the default UI. Are you [censored] serious about this ?!

*what skills the opponent is using. Already available in WoW, it's called Gladiatorlossa

*INTERRUPTION WARNINGS. There is no mod needed for this, the cast times on such abilities are so long that only a complete [censored] wouldn't interrupt it in time.

*Buff timers. Available in WoW as part of the default UI.

*Debuff timers. Same as above.

*what armor stats the oppenen has. Not enough info to pass judgment.

*dps meter. Mandatory addon for all purposes, it's available in wow, it's called Recount.

I'm not seeing anything gamebreaking just doom and gloom from someone who obviously never played WoW or any AAA MMO. Art thou mad, sibling dearest ? :D

This.

You are too blind to see that this will increase the quality of the game and will ensure that it will stay longer on the market with more fans and better game play. This is also true vor single player games and for MMOs for sure, es history and experience shows.

I made an account just to laugh at Aranthil for not thinking there would be mods in an MMO. Funny thread this is.

Crying in total disbelief at this thread. Use them or don't OP, simple. And try to find a guild that doesn't act like elitists with obligated use of certain mods/addons.

You know what the best part is? All of what you list is one addon. Thanks goes to Atropos of Tamriel Foundry for this beautiful masterpiece.

Its fun seeing so many needs all help they can get in order to play this game.

Obviously its too hard for the disabled player base.

Sorry but you have no say what one can or cannot do. you should use should and would ie.

The extra addons are used to make the game give the information we lack (for people who want to see them as numbers etc)

its mainly only a speration of Graphics to numbers and bars. NOTHING ELSE.

if you have problems accepting this, perhaps ESO is the wrong game for you ? as it is an MMO.

You brought that comparison up.

Tell us more about how mods affected WoW's longevity.

I have faith that Zen will throttle the API just right.

I have been developing and using mods/UI addons since the functionality was added to EverQuest. I usually go for the minimalist look with key information displayed. Zen has provided half of this already. Now I just need a bit of information such as my buffs and debuffs.

You all can argue, rant and rave until you're blue in the face.

Proclaim that the sky is falling and DOOM is UPON US.

I have faith that things will be Okie Dokie? by release. :tops:

buff are also tracked as long as they cast it in range from what i see. Even Blocking (so bovious with visual clue) is tracked.

True but wow does it right at great many things, just because something was invented in wow doesn't mean it's bad.

I don't fully understand the mod capabilities. I thought it was shearly UI .. screen eye candy. Not something that can pull data and give you an advantage. You may not be forced, but if it can scan target and let him know about skills, buff, interrupt timing etc. That is an unfair advantage and you "min/max 1337 [censored]s" will once again ruin the game.

the similarity is in the UI API modding.

but yea the game itself is far away from WoW, thank god.

the mods give more info than normally would be there.

I Think if you need that much help playing this game , maybe ESO isnt the game for you? Maybe this game is too hard for you to comprehend and play? Theres WOW that allows hard-lock targetting, dps meters, attack warnings, buff timers/ debuff timers and all those things that makes the game in easy level. Stuff for most of you disabled players.

Aranthil it is not a question of NEEDING addons it a question of taste if the ui as is is to your liking that is fine but my tastes run much deeper I love seeing how many hps are on my health bar or how much magicka I have and how much damage I am putting out. You really don't need addons but if they are available I will use them.

You are free to use the addon yourself, it's really use to use, you just download it and place it in a game's folder. No one is getting any advantages over you unless you out right refuse to adapt.

Amen to that brother. In WoW I used upwards of a dozen or more mods. In ESO I'll only need 3-4 at most to get everything I need. ESO is clearly a different type of game.
