Oh damn nice I'll have to try this thanks
Seems like the Restoration leveling scheme is becoming popular. The above quote is from a previous thread I thought you might find interesting for leveling other schools as well. Great Dovaminds must think alike!
For Conjuration, I use the old method of casting soultrap. Mudcrabs and horkers are excellent specimens.
As for Destruction, I usually join the college at a later time so, I don't have access to most expert spells. Instead, I head to the largest bandit/forsworn camps and blast them with runes, which I'd swear follow the same "the more, the merrier" rule, when it comes to xp gain.
Illusion levels up with the usual muffle spamming and when I get to Alteration, it's usually high enough for Telekinesis to show up in Wylandriah's (Riften's court mage) items list.
As for the Repel spells, I kind of feel bad, both for not using them until now, and for just grinding restoration with them. They're a powerful line of crowd control tools, before and even after you get Circle of Protection... ah well, there's always the next character.
I preach Repel Undead for those who want to level Restoration faster. My favorite locale to legendary several times in about 15-20 minutes is Shriekwind Bastion. In that dungeon (I enter on the lakeside, not Falkreath city), I lure the skeletons into the central part of the dungeon where there 3 gates. I can get 7-8 in the part where there are 3 chains/locked chest by closing the gate I entered the area to and then repel them creaky things into the small area, close it and about 3-5 miunutes restoration levels from 15 to 100.
Using equilibrium/healing spell or healing from repeated damage takes way too much time where investing in a spell as Repel Lesser Undead speeds things quicker (and then obtain Repel Undead from Collette once you reach 65-70). Glad to see someone else using it for training than me.
edit: BTW, here is a video where the user used Dead Man's Repsite (if he had a full reduction reduction "suit" it would much more quickly): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NnxesO8nPY
I didn't have leveling in mind, when I mentioned Circle of Protection. What I meant, is that even when the character learns that spell, Repel Undead can still be used in a variety of situations against undead -that is, as long as the character has Restoration Dual Casting & Necromage.
Not just training. These spells were meant to be used. I remember occasions when my mages suffered, because I wouldn't bother to cast even a simple Turn spell. I should've known better.
