Was on the fence...

I was on the fence with The Elder Scrolls. When the game was initially announced I was very excited for the game. As time went on, and more direction of the game was given the less enthused I felt. When they announced this game was also headed to the consoles I really did not like what I heard. So I stepped away from the game for a while, thinking I'd play something else and just forget about this game.

A few days ago a friend asked if I were going to play ESO when it launched. I stated that I was not... but he made a good case for me to come back and check out the state of the game. So I did... and I must confess, the game appears to be shaping up. I admit to pre-judging to early and have since moved to purchase the Digital Imperial Edition.

I really liked the look of ESO as show in the PVP/RvR videos... Angry Joe, MMORPG and ElderGeek especially.

I'm glad they added collision detection - that adds so much strategy and tactic.

Anyway, I was leaning toward playing under the Aldmeri Dominion... but now I think I'll roll with the Daggerfall Covenant!!! Gonna get my Orc Templar on... see if I can whip up something close to my pre-nerf Smite-Cleric (DAoC)

Here's hoping Bethesda and Zenimax can capture a bit of the old magic.. and may The Elder Scrolls Online be the best MMO we've yet to play.

Collisions detection was not added to pvp, only pve monsters.

Creates too many obstacles to free movement, something you need in PvP. Easy to corner people and prevent their escape, etc. I'm not sure that's as bad a thing as they think, but I understand their reasoning.

Oh well. reading through the patch notes... NPC's only. Seems my attention to detail is lacking. At any rate... I shall be giving it a whirl when it launches... and if possible - beta this weekend :)
