If it was you and one gun in the Mojave

Post » Thu Aug 25, 2011 10:46 pm

What gun or (if your brave enough) unarmed/melee weapon would it be. This pertains to real life so if you had one weapon in the game to choose from what would it be an why. I would probably go with the hunting rifle with all mods very versatile doesn't kick like a mule *cough* AMR an the ammo is fairly common.

All American or the marksman carbine if the All American isn't availible. Very common ammo, nice fire rate, a sweet scope, easy to use, and it looks pretty awesome.

I say...This Machine..seriously, that or Cowboy Repeater..or even Ratslayer. Why? because if it pretains to real life standards, then I dont need to worry about health and whatnot, since a shot from any of these rifles would be great pain, if not death. My accuracy in Real life (and on the game) are both good enough to surpass even a few officers in the Navy (mostly from my father training me) so..yeah, when in doubt, use the most accurate, less recoil, and faster reloading equipment. This is against humans though, and most animals in the Mohave in RL do die from these in just a few shots or even one shot...sooo..yeah..

Brush Gun or Lucky, not sure which.

Both are versatile is why. Not sure which one though because while Lucky is better DPS and has easy-to-get ammo, Brush gun has better range and DPH.

Marksman Carbine, because accuracy is everything in war. Bullets are small things and it's tricky to hit anything especially if it moves without a "crosshair" and auto-aim. Anyone who has received military training knows this. In the world of firearms it's not just point and shoot. Just try hitting a moving target at 150m while standing...

Hmm... honestly a hunting shotgun, why? b/c i've handled more shotguns then anything else(i also like them more then other weapons), also the pump means i dont have as high of chance wasting Ammo like with a riot shotgun.

To be fair it's the Navy, that doesn't mean a whole lot

hhmmm.......

Probably the Hunting Shotgun, due to the fact that I havent had military training (yet) and my accuracy isn't that great :/

Also, in real life, most people would go down with one shot... including me. Thats why I don't want to miss.

the Militarys best snipers, and shooters are either in the Marine Corps (Navy) or Army, Pick your poison, mate, I'll gladly shoot it out of your hands.

Pistolero, you are indeed right, sir. When it goes to real-life standards, accuracy, and precision is all you need in a gunfight.

Indeed. War isn't just about who makes the most awesome kill. War is about incapacitating the enemy. Shoot someone in the leg and that guy won't fight no more. That's why precision over power. The only downside of 5.56mm compared to for example 7.62x39 is that it can't penetrate walls and defenses that well, and I think even flak jackets can fend them off from a distance, and perhaps helmets.

I really wouldn't pick for example an M1 Garand or lever-action guns as MY gun, as they're obviously ages old and not as reliable as modern weapons.

Of course if I could choose from real-life guns, I'd go with the http://www.majkasvihoruzja.com/files/slike/puska-sako_rk_95_tp_2.jpg assault rifle as it's the one I've got training for and it's the most accurate and stable of the AK series. Easy to maintain, only downside is I think is that it's expensive to produce, but that's not a problem for an individual soldier.
But then again, I have a mod to give me that gun in-game so I guess it counts :P Extra accessories include scope, silencer, bayonet and 'nade launcher.

true, in fact, most of these weapons listed in the Mohave aren't even around to actually fire functionally. however, I just like those types of rifles as a feel for them, thats all. If I wanted true 100% domination in the field of firepower, my money is on the Marksman Carbine, or All-American. Both great all around rifles with scopes upon them. for silence sniping though, I'll still stick with the Ratslayer for its small frame, and Night use. Great for scouting or getting a drop on an enemy if I do say so myself, sir.

Damn, she is a real beauty isn't she? If I gotten some training with her, I'd roll through the Mohave feeling like a king lol.

Silenced sniper rifle. Packs a punch, and if I only have one gun I want to do it from a distance. Does pretty well up close too

Fully modded Sniper Rifle, silent, lightweight, and very reliable. If I was allowed a back up, I'd have a silenced 10mm too.

My weapon of choice ( as in many threads ): This Machine, my favorite gun and if it was only me and This Machine I'd feel safe. The M1 is one of the best rifles to be manufactured ( imo ) it's a classic. Good damage, ROF, accuracy, and reload speed.

Either This Machine or a service rifle as im not too combat oriented and ammunition + spare parts are easily available. It also looks relatively easy to use.

Probably the displacer glove, why? Because I roleplay as a unarmed robot and this suits my power armor. (Vault Tec Power Armor mod)

Probably an M40A1 seeing how its the weapon I use and I live in vegas.
If it could be any weapon though it would probably be an XM8.
