Wash your face!

Post » Fri Dec 04, 2015 8:55 pm

Does it bother anybody else that when you get new settlers you can put them in nice new clothes, set them up with new jobs as merchants dealing with the public, but...they refuse to WASH THEIR FACES!?!

Seriously though, does anybody else wish there was a way to "clean them up" once they become your settlers?
Like, maybe, installing a few sinks/tubs should remove the layers of dirt from their faces.

We have tubs and sinks. Hmmm, it would be nice if they could be hooked up (by piping, just like wires attach power sources with appropriate systems for settlements) to water treatment plants or pumps. Would be nice to actually be able to drink (hopefully purified) water at our settlements, let alone have settlers use the facilities.

You'd think that in 200 years the society would have moved on, cleaned some of the rubble, and resume some basic hygiene. Not if BGS has anything to say!

You can drink water from water pumps. It's not irradiated.

I agree that it'd be nice to be able to hook up some working plumbing. For one thing, it's just occurred to me that a couple of my more populated settlements have absolutely no toilet facilities.

That will be in Fallout 5. :)

Fallout 5 will be in Detroit Michigan. You heard it here first folks. The only city post Apocalypse where the Feral ghouls run FROM the humans. :)

ikr..

Bethesda has all these "stalkers". It's pretty weird.

I'm going to build a tub and put a water pump near it. Maybe they'll decide to use it.

If that's the best argument you can come up with, I think I'm safe.

I've got a flannel to wash my face.
When it gets mucky I feel disgrace.

Well, you have to remember that in that "200 years" the last zero was added accidentally, and now they're stuck with it :teehee:

I don't think Detroit would work well as a fallout game. You'd emerge from the vault, and go... meh.. nothings changed..

I think it's a shame that the rubble etc in settlements stays around, it would be great to see it slowly get tidier over time, don't these people have any pride!? Look what I built you!

Would washing your face really be worth the radiation or wasting of limited purified water in the post apocalypse?

Seems like in every Fallout game most characters got the mangy shabby hobo look nailed down. I'd like to say it's because there is no working water heater around to heat up water to take a shower with, but they could just boil it themselves and pour it into a tub to scrub with. So yeah, basically because all of them are filthy hood-rats society's standards have slipped. That, and living in dirty shacks must rub off on them a lot.

I noticed this too. I went to vault 81 and the place is spic and span immaculate. But everyone looks like they haven`t bathed in a decade. The overseer was clean though....kinda cute.

Most the dresses look bad as well. Settlers look better in combat armor. Raider armor makes them look like they have a neck brace on.

The way I see it is purified water is for drinking and normal water is dirty and rad infested so everyone is forced to be dirty and smelly to survive.

You could always use the SLM command and remove their dirt :D

(Honestly, that SLM command and the possibility to use it on NPCs is pretty much the nicest feature Bethesda could think of :D )

Not to mention showers exist in the game as well. Honestly, if people have electricity, I think they should have figured out plumbing. I want a shower!

Yes, yes it would. You haven't seen my stockpile of purified water!
