Washed-Out & Light Cave Interiors at a Distance

Post » Fri Aug 30, 2013 4:36 am

The title says it all. Very strange visual behavior I'm seeing in all caves lately. I disabled any texture mods that deal with caves and I'm still seeing a ghostly pale glow of cave textures at a distance. Any ideas?

If you just disabled them, the textures are still in the directories and may be loaded up. You have to Uninstall a Texture mod. Hopefully you used a Mod Manager to install them, so you can cleanly uninstall it.

I'll uninstall rather than disable and get back here with the results. In the meantime, http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss215/carabidus/skyrim/Screenshot5935_zps6948adc5.png

I thought this may have been caused by the aMidianborn Caves mod, so I uninstalled it using NMM. Still the same problem...

Those look more like the textures from an Ice Cave that ghost textures. You got a mod that is mixing your caves up?

Seems plausible. I am going to uninstall/reinstall my interior texture mods and overwrite. As I get closer to cave textures, they darken. This is the opposite of what supposed to happen.

No luck. I even did a clean reinstallation of my video drivers. Cave interiors still look ghostly at a distance.

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/968663-texture-bug/ This is EXACTLY what is happening to me, but inside caves as well.

The only affects I have seen on textures, usually flickering, in the Vanilla game is caused by AA. And, this is when the control panel for the video card is doing the AA and not the game. Also, various post processing affects can cause some weirdness. So, try shutting down the panel (you don't have to uninstall it) and running AA in the game Note, 4X AA and FXAA is best performance balance.
