Wasteland Critters you wish you could sink your teeth into

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 2:12 pm

Most of the irradiated animals in the Wasteland can be eaten, but there's some like the radscorpions, centaurs, and deathclaws which you can't eat. So out of all those creatures, which do you wish were edible?

I'd like to eat some radscorpion, because some people really do eat scorpions. I hear they're a delicacy. :)

We already eat irradiated meat now so bring on a Deathclaw sammich. It probably tastes like chicken. Where can I find some barbecue sauce?

With the MMM mod, there are more creatures and more things you can eat off of them.

Deathclaws for example, drop Deathclaw Meat. But it's not tasty or particularly good for you. (as I recall it damages health and gives radiation)

On the other hand Deathclaw Blood has some nice beneficial effects.

With that mod, even Ghouls drop Ghoul Flesh :yuck:
( :whisper: unless you want to get irradiated Ghoul Flesh is really nasty)

But I'm not particularly interested in eating any more animals. I'm fine with Cram.

Probably deathclaw, they seem like they'd be meaty. Rad scorpions are more like... eating insects. Maybe if they were baked until they were crunchy.

I believe in terms of Fallout lore that Deathclaw eggs are quite popular and it would be awesome if radscorpion meat tasted like crab!

Who needs radscorpion to taste like crab when you have mirelurks? Tastiest creature in the capital wasteland from what I hear. Or even better

I don't know Molerat Wonder meat has gotta come close for top spot.

Bit of Deathclaw would probably go down well with Nuka-Cola I reckon

I think I read somewhere that deathclaws are severely mutated lizards so maybe that's where iguana bits come from.

I think it was grandma sparkles (I think that's her name) who said that Mirelurk meat was the best in the wasteland. She also said the molerat moves in your stomach.

Who would want to eat a centaur? :yuck:

Where death claws come from:
Spoiler
They were not actually caused by radiation. Pre-War scientists made them from Chameleons in hopes of using them to replace troops for clearing out areas where high casualties would be taken.

Come to think of it I have never seen any iguanas, and where do all of these squirrels come from that you find skewered on sticks and whatnot?

Also fyi centaurs are:
Spoiler
humans and animals that got mixed in the FEV at the same time resulting in them mutating together creating those hideous things. Hence the name "Centaur". Centaurs in mythology are half man and half beast after all.

So eating one would kind of make you a cannibal? Kind of sort of I guess?

Well since they're half-human, that would make you a half-cannibal. Which means you loose half the karma for half the taste! :)
