wasteland dating agency

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:01 am

My current character has accomplished loads in the wasteland including finishing the main game and all of the DLC. She is a decent sort, not especially violent, dresses well, good looking, sadly a bit dependant on chems but otherwise something of a catch. But she can't seem to find any luuurve!!

Do you have any suggestions? I have heard of opportunities for sleeping with prosttutes and marrying prominent ladies but this is presumably limited to male characters. She isn't that sort of girl in any case. The only feeling she gets when she sees Sarah Lyons is one of vague rivalry.

And bear in mind she comes from a VAULT so isn't likely to want to date some scummy raider. She needs a real hero to sweep her off her feet, someone classy with charm and proper values. Sadly, the only gentleman she has ever got to know is Fawkes, who doesn't even count as human.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

I don't think there are any male prosttutes and the whole marrige thing must be a mod, it's not in the official game at least.

What about Mr. Burke? Sure it'd be a long-distance relationship since he disappears off the face of the Earth (unless you kill him).

Maybe a male member of the Lyon's Pride? Gallows, perhaps? I'm sure he'll be swanky in formal-wear (if you can ever get him out of that Power Armor)

If your character is a bit curious, there's always the butch Brick from Reilly's Rangers, she's manly enough for any woman.

I think Brick is in a relationship already, with Eugene.

She should just pick a dude she finds attractive, then use some ant queen pheromones. Problem solved.

The game is somewhat 'male centric', sadly for some. And romantic attachments just ain't a happening deal - Bittercup goes a bit giggly, and there might be the odd hint of something from Dr Li but that's about it. The entire Nova thing is a scam...I'm pretty sure they give you a slug of Moriarty's knockout juice and rip you off 120 caps. Not that any of my characters have been caught out - with no soap and toothpaste in the Wastes, I mean, really....uuuurrrk.

Broaden her horizons a little bit. I bet Nova in Moriarty's would "do" her...Can you give us a screen shot? Wait....she'll probably look very masculine just like all of the other Fallout women.

I'd like to see someone try that for real... she'd decorate the Citadel walls with his brains.

Thanks for all of your input.

Maybe one of those Brotherhood of Steel guys is the answer. In spite of what my character thinks of their pseudo-nighhtly nonsense (ahem). I'll go back to the pentagon and see what they have to say for themselves.

As for all of the suggestions that she might want to play for the other side, she just simply isn't that kind of girl! She grew up in a vault, remember? ^_^

Mind you, the game could have a bit more romance in it. Mass Effect is full of that sort of excitement.

PS I didn't know you could date Mr. Burke! However I don't think she'd get along with that guy and would be more likely to kill the life out of him with her Gauss Rifle. She already killed him ages ago in any case.

My current character grew up in a Vault and is that kind of girl. That is why she has Clover for a follower.

I miss romance too. It was one of the things I liked about the KOTOR games as well. Every time I meet the AntAgonizer I so wish there was an option to stop her evil ways by seducing her instead (and thusly show her that humans are good for something after all).

If you have the Black Widow perk, and follow the right paths in the bomb quest, then he will send you love letters. The Black Widow perk opens up all sorts of opportunities to manipulate male characters.

He he good for her. She might actually get some action. I imagine my character being incapable of contemplating that sort of thing on account of growing up with the 1950's values and bible quotes on her walls and suchlike. Apart from anything else, what would dad think? Please bear in mind that this is her prejudice and not my own.

I have played the KOTOR games as well - they are great.

But the Antagoniser is just a loon and not really romantic material, even given the low standards of sanity in the wasteland. Don't waste your time with crazies.

What? Doctor Li is meant to be the same age as your mother.. She can't possibly think of LW that way..

Hm? I've never played a female in FO3, don't make me! Not with New Vegas this close. Could you elaborate on the hints?

Sure... have her spend a couple nights at Dukov's place... if she can stand the creep, maybe she will come to love him... fat chance I am thinking.

Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your thinking on the matter of romance, FO3 does not seem to lend itself to that type of game-play. 'Bout the only game I have played that really gets into love/romance is Dragon Age.

Unlike today's teenagers...Bittercup, as a proper retro-futuristic teenager, is probably a virgin and rather sheltered when it comes to advlt (read sixual) relationships. She backs off if you express interest because she senses offering to be the g/f of the LW isn't the same thing as being girlfriends of the boys in Big Town and it scares her. I think we're a long ways from a game system where it would be practical to properly romance a NPC like that....getting a girl like that into bed would take a lot of patience and gentle coaxing. Unless you're evil, of course.

And Dr Li? She doesn't want the LW......she wants his/her Dad. She always has, but he never realized it.

What? Doctor Li is meant to be the same age as your mother.. She can't possibly think of LW that way..

Dr. Li actually delivered the LW.....she is the first person he/she sees when he/she is born. Dr Li has no romantic interest in the LW.....on the other hand she's been carrying a torch for Dad since long before the LW was born. Talk to her after you and Dad get back to Rivet City after springing him from 112...her mask slips for a moment and her real feelings come out.

I hear Three Dog is single. He's a classy, charming guy with proper values.
Move in with him, I believe his bed is an unowned one so you can use it when he isn't sleeping.
Only problem is you lose karma when you use his containers.

Yes I think that's a good call.

I don't think she even met Three Dog yet. But he sings her praises on the radio quite a lot, proclaiming how great she is to the whole wasteland. So they are off to a good start. Move in together? Let's not rush things.

Three Dog sounds good in between songs on the radio, but gets really annoying in person. He'll talk her head off. Don't do it.

Unfortunately, your character is 19. so the "window" of romantic partners (unless he likes older women) is a bit narrow. Figure 16 is the minimum, it seems to be the informal age of majority; Angela gets married at that age and Lamplight kicks you out. And figure 23 is the max, unless cougars are your thing. So who does that consist of?

My character is in fact a girl. On the age side she wouldn't mind an older guy, in fact would probably prefer someone who has established himself in the world. Not Elder Lyons age of course.

Let's face it Fawkes is the onlt gentleman in the game lol.
Three Dogs is a nice guy, Charon is Dark,Tall, and skinless My character has him as a follower.
There is Butch but eh I don't really like him. There are not that many men who could be your knight in shining armor in the wasteland.
Perhaps a loser in aluminum foil?

Regretfully, there is just no options for male romantic partners in FO3... There are Nova, Bittercup and Clover which definitely are willing to get busy with the Lone Wanderer, be they male or female. You had some sort of weird best friend maybe dating thing with Amata, and Sara Lyons seems pretty attached to you, especially by the end of Broken Steel. But all of these treat you the same no matter what gender your character picks, and are all female obviously. Just a sign of the male-centric viewpoint of the game (in addition to all movies and ads for these games showing a male Lone Wanderer... or Courier for FONV)

So if you want game supported male romantic partners.... afraid not. There are a number of guys who could make good partners though, for roleplay. Various BoS guys and Three Dog have already been mentioned. And Dukov if you're really desperate.... Or the slavers at Paradise Falls if you're evil. I'm sure Eulogy could make room for you if you're properly subservient...

A number of people in Rivet City or Megaton would probably be good partners. I am not sure if you would want to step into the mess at Tenpenny Towers, but if you do at least you know they have caps to spend. For someone your age, there are the survivors of Big Town. Plenty of potential options without raiders or the like out there... Some better than others.

What you're saying about the lack of proper game supported love interest is true. But is the game all that male centric? At least you can actually play being either six and have girl specific perks like Black Widow. Also, there are loads of women in heroic, leadership situations that you come across, rather than portraying girls entirely as something you need to exploit or protect. Having said that, I am not a girl (just my character in this second playthrough) so can't really comment.

What's wrong with Harkness from Rivet City? Or how about Vance from the Family? Too creepy? There's also Doc Hoff who has a job. And Billy Creel comes with a house and daughter.
