Wasteland Hunting

This would be fun as hell.
Can't wait to have a roaring campfire out on the desert while roasting some Gecko's, just absorbing the atmosphere, over looking New Vegas.

With FWE in Fallout 3, I would put on a Merc Grunt outfit and go outside Megaton and hunt molerats to stock up on food. When I ran out, I did it again. This will be fun to do with all of the new creatures and using Survival.

and i hear they fixed how creatures spawned knowing your exact location if ya werent in perma-sneak

I hate that empty stomach feel, you always feel like your going to throw up. The most I've gone is 3 days without food.

no, haven't starved myself. but i have lasted over 2 days almost not eating. without a problem. except feeling a little weird and light headed.

i wonder how long the days will take in NV... i like HC but not if i have to sleep every 20 minutes and drink & eat every 5 minutes. i might have to mod the time to go slower to make it feel more realistic.

I hope its like, drink every IRL hour, sleep every 4 IRL hours, eat every 12 IRL hours. But If you don't keep them above say, half, then you start to get debuffs.

This topic confuses me.

Wasteland hunting?

Using a thirst/hunger mod for FO3, Ive done this so called 'hunting' you speak of, let me detail my hunting secrets to you fine people.

1. Openly walk through the wasteland.
2. Wait for [insert critter here] to notice you, turn red, and charge you.
3. Shoot it.
4. Remove meat from its inventory.
5. Eat, watch hunger level go down.
6. Move on with your life.

^
No actual hunting/tracking etc. to speak of.

Seriously, I don't think that Obsidian has boosted the AI that much. I really doubt its changed from FO3

Or has someone heard something on the contrary?

You DONT get jumped as much anymore, creatures are supposed to prefer certain areas, and you DONT get instantaneously targeted by a spawning creature. or so i have heard.

WHAT YOU SAY!?

Well I would say Schifty-Five, but yes, there is a perk that gives you a ton of extra damage against animals. I'm glad that you can cook your own food now since eating 200 year old steak was never that appealing.
