Wasteland Recipes

This isn't so much a story as it is a simple list of all the Wasteland food recipes we can come up with. I'll start with the three recipes I've mentioned in Shady Sands Confidential.

Eggs Benedict

Ingredients:
1 fire ant egg
1 slice smoked mole rat (or smoked brahmin or smoked lakelurk/mirelurk meat)
1 muffin
2 tablespoons of hollondaise sauce

Directions:
Fry egg and smoked mole rat meat. Toast the muffin. When the egg is cooked on one side, place the mole rat meat atop the egg, then place the muffin atop the mole rat meat. Flip the entire combination over, and toast the other side of the muffin. When muffin begins to brown, turn off heat, place on plate, and pour hollondaise sauce over the muffin, egg, and smoked meat.

Hollondaise sauce:
Begin by slowly melting a half-stick or full stick of brahmin butter
Beat raw deathclaw, fire ant, or cazador eggs until yolk and white are mixed
Lower the bowl with the eggs into a pot of near-boiling water
Drizzle in melted butter a teaspoon at a time
Follow up the butter with a few drops of vinegar and the juices from a crushed Nevada Agave Fruit

Wasteland Omelette

Ingredients:
1 box Blamco Mac & Cheese
1 Crunchy Mutfruit
1 Deathclaw Egg
1 pound Lakelurk Meat
1 teaspoon melted Brahmin butter

Directions:
Beat Deathclaw egg until yolk and white are mixed. Then dice the crunchy mutfruit and mix the pieces into the beaten egg. Pour butter into hot frying pan, then pour the egg/mutfruit mixture melted butter. As the egg/mutfruit mixture solidifies into an omelette, pour the Mac & Cheese on top of the egg omelette, then place the lakelurk meat atop that. Fold the omelette and fry on both sides until Lakelurk meat turns slightly brown.

Legionnaire's Stew

Ingredients:
2 pounds Brahmin meat
2 medium onions, diced
3 carrots, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 jalapeno, diced
1 broc flower
1 1/2 pound potatoes, diced
1/2 pound xander root, diced
1 teaspoon butter
4 cups water (or beer)
Flour (thicken as needed)
Pepper (season as needed)

Directions:
Char the Brahmin meat over an open fire or on a grill for no longer than one minute. (You just want the outside of the meat to be crispy and have a nice sooty/caramelized taste.) Then cut the Brahmin meat into cubes, and fry with butter, potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, and jalapeno over a medium heat, until the onions and garlic turn very slightly brown. Next, pour in the water, broc flower, and xander root, and turn down the heat. Simmer for between one and six hours. When serving, add flour and/or black pepper as desired.

The lore behind this dish is that the Legionnaires would often gather up whatever herbs and plants they could find, then cut a slice of meat off the barbecuing Brahmin you see so often in a Legion camp, and then boil the food into a hearty stew.
