Robert woke up that morning, sluggishly. His case made him think very much that night. The Shell, Glove, and smiley face made no sense. Shell, yes, Glove, maybe. But the face, what does that mean? He went down to the Market, ready to have a morning feast of terrible food and Nuka-Cola. Gary's Galley had always been a favorite of his. So he ate their often, and was one of his best costumers. The Market smelled of food and beer, his favorite combination. He sat at the stool at the bar section of the stand.
"Well, hello again, Robert. What can I do for you?" He said.
"Usual." Robert responded.
"Okay, Mole Rat and a Nuka-Cola, comein' up."
As Robert waited for his food, he heard some people talking about the murder.
"Well, apparently, it was Talon Company!"
"Pffh, no, it was the new guy"
'The new guy?'
Robert was usually informed over things like this, why he hadn't was strange to him.
"Okay, Robert, here you go, that is twenty-five caps"
"Yeah, yeah, here you go."
Robert quietly ate his Mole Rat, focusing on the people around him. Their movements, actions, what they were buying. Robert finished up his meal and headed up to the fight Deck to possibly get more information. Robert was still pretty slow, due to the morning. The spot where most gathered, the sort of "Lounge", was the best to gather info. Robert noticed the woman who gave him the case, Nancy.
"Hey, Nancy, whats the word on that stiff up there?"
"Oh, I'm glad your here, some new stuff has came to"
Robert sat down to get the new information, that will hopefully gibe him new light on the case.
"Okay, we found a note on the body. It must have been put there after our first look-through, how he got back up there is amazing.
We had the area cordoned off to the public."
She gave the note to Robert.
It read.
"People around here know much about killing, but not about dealing with it.
Well, I know much about both, and I'll make you learn.
I'll teach you like the dogs you are.
I wonder what my good friend, Lana Danvers is doing lately"
And at the bottom, a smiley face, inked in blood. After Robert read the last part, his eyes opened wide and his jaw dropped.
"Oh, hell! Wheres Davers at!"
"Uh she should be in her quarters, why?"
Before he could answer, he was already out the door. He was running up the stairs, ready to spring on anyone coming down the the stairs.
He found her room, took a deep breath, and opened the door, ready for the worst. He swung the door open, and saw that she was sitting at a table.
He walked over and talked to her.
"Oh, Danvers I thought..."
He put his hand on her should, which made her head drop, reviling a slit in her throat. He scared Robert, and he fell back with a yelp.
Security members came rushing in to noticed the body, they were all baffled. Robert was on the floor, hand over his mouth, in disbelief.
