It was a lot easier once they added Egg Moves and breeding though. Getting OP Toxic on things was difficult in Gen 1 without multiple copies of the game and more than one Game Boy (or Pokémon Stadium).

@Headpopper : Yeah, I'd actually forgotten about Kabuto. I always chose my favourite Cthulhu-faced Nautilus, Omastar, instead.

@VaultDweller95 : Gecko-backed Reinforced Leather Armour was my primary Armour of choice in New Vegas. I switched to the Reinforced Metal variant on latter playthroughs though. Geckos were just adorable. I'd totally make friends with them and the Yao Guai.

Which brings me back to my Battle Bear mount. Seriously, a ridable, armoured Yao Guai mount with mounted Miniguns would just be awesome.

Not sure what that has to do with Geckos in Fallout. There is just something about their comedic face that just doesn't sit right, plus they were just cannon fodder anyways.

Or you can name your radiation gun (if you have one or plan on getting one) Mew Two since the thing kills almost anything within a few shots. I learned this the hard way when I challenged a gunner to a shooting match when he had one and I got killed in 3 shots.

EDIT: Reason I say Mew Two was whenever I challenged my friends to a match when I used to play the Game Boy Advance versions with them it was pretty much all over when I brought him out, as that Legendary Pokemon was pretty much over kill. Due to that mixed with the Radiation gun's overkilling power it makes a good reference.

You called the Geckos "cartoony". Fire Emblem is kind of "cartoony" too.

Anyway, Geckos were awesome. Something different from all the usual, dull enemies. I'm hoping they end up showing some degree of a community at some point. They seem fairly social creatures, so they must have something more than just a pack mentality.
