Wastelander item capacity bug?

Post » Mon Feb 15, 2016 4:20 am

So I have four dwellers in the wasteland. The item cap per dweller was 100, or so I thought.

I check my game this afternoon and all four are already returning to the vault with a "maxed out" payload.

Dweller 1 - 43 items

Dweller 2 - 71 items

Dweller 3 - 72 items

Dweller 4 - 100 items

Am I missing something here? Why are dwellers 1,2, and 3 returning to the vault already?

Yeah. The dweller I sent out 2 days ago was fine but the dwellers I sent out came back saying they couldn't carry more after just a few hours. They didn'the have many items at all. Maybe 25 or so. I am wondering if this is a new glitch, or a new update (like strength state limiting carrying ability).

My brother and I also have dwellers returning early. It's like they reached their carry capacity limit. Was there a server-side update that caused this?

Same problem for me. I sent out my 2 main dwellers, both in power armor, both with all stats maxed. They showed back up with all 25 of their stimpaks, with only 5 common items each. The log said they had reached their carry max, lol. I can usually leave these two out collecting for 3 days with no issues. Hoping this is a bug.

Yeah, I sent out two more dwellers (both with max stats and 25 stims each) out into the wasteland again last night. This morning they've already returned with 5 items each and about 5 1/2 hours of exploring.

I was hoping that this was just a one-time thing. Nope.

Same problem here; Max-Stat L50 Dwellers coming back with just 5 common items each. Started happening this morning - every wasteland explorer turned around at the same time with whatever they had at the time, and any sent out since come back with just 5 items.

I'm also having this problem. They all come back with just a few items, even if I send them them right back out.

Is anyone reading this? I have the same issue, effective from today. 5 items and all my explorers were returning to the vault.

Yes, I am experiencing the same issue as well. All dwellers are automatically returning with only 5 items each.

I am having the exact same issue, everyone turned around and returned to the vault and if I send them out again, they will only pick up 5 items, then turn around and say that is all they can carry.

Me too... If the game is entirely offline beside the cloud functionality, how has this happened to all of us at the same time?!

Looks like server-side problem? I didn't notice any client update recently, suddenly having this 5 capacity issues.

edit: somehow explore button now working again. Explorer that said capped before can explore again. Glad this problem turn out just temporary issue, gonna wait to see how my explorer now doing.

If you build more storage, then it stops happening.

The explore button becomes available and you can send them out again before they return.

Looks like what you can pick up is now somehow linked to you ability to store it, though I don't know how they sneaked this change in!

This bug seems to have been fixed on my game.

The last few dwellers I sent today are all still out there exploring and have more than five items in their inventory.

I'm still having this issue. I sent out two dwellers after the rest of mine returned (on their own) yesterday and just loaded up to see that one had returned with 6 items with a message saying he was at his max, and the other is currently 8 minutes out, has 3 items that I can see, two that I can't, and a blank space in between two of them, 313 caps, and is saying "That's as much as I can carry. I better head back and show the Overseer what I found."

Please can I get an update on what's going on? I have more than enough space for the items in my vault (currently 114/250) so I know that isn't the issue.

The original issue of 5 item capacity was resolved but now my items that are being found in the wasteland are not being added to the inventory.

This is neither a bug, nor an issue, I'm pretty sure. Don't be naive people.

Bethesda just decided to cut max capacity so that you start getting items from packs you buy in the store, instead of getting them for free in the Wasteland. Isn't it obvious.

Note how there is no patch notes about recent changes. Suspicious?

*... also pretty sure, that if there will be official answer on this, it will be something like "Oh ye, there is an issue with capacity. We are working on it. (Forever)."

My dwellers are still exploring, so I can't comment yet on this.

Will update when I get some wastelanders back.

Hi, Tilly. When I look at the list of events that my wasteland explorers show I see things they have found that are not listed on the bar with the pictures. I'm not sure I'd I'm making sense, but you would be able to see that they are missing.

I understand exactly what you're saying.

The items aren't in 100% chronological order down in your scroll bar with the pictures. Like items pair up. You're getting all your items, you just have to scroll further over.

For instance if the first item your dweller earned one hour into his/her wasteland expedition was a Formal Wear outfit and 2 days and dozens of items later your dweller finds his second Formal Wear outfit, it won't be the latest picture in your scroll bar. It will be back at the beginning paired up with your first Formal Wear outfit. Does that make sense?

So if your dweller earns in chronological order:

Rusty Pistol - Enhanced Shotgun - Combat Armor - Rusty Pistol - Battle Armor - Enhanced Shotgun

In the picture scroll bar it will look like this:

Rusty Pistol - Rusty Pistol - Enhanced Shotgun - Enhanced Shotgun - Combat Armor - Battle Armor

Follow?

I understand what you mean but that isn't what is happening. The number of items total isn't increasing as new items are collected. But maybe once I recall them it will correct.
