S.P.E.C.I.A.L. in wastelands points in wastelands

Hello,

I want to ask if you know what influence have SPECIAL in wastelands.

I found big anolyse, but it was taken for dwellers having all stats at 10. I wonder what is i.e. the difference between Intelligence of 3 and 8. Is there difference in number of found goods?

I'm asking because I'm disapointed - my first dweller reached National Guard Depot and he found literally nothing, not even a junk, nothing. It makes unworthy trying to get there, because I retrieved some legendaries from Broadcasting Tower just outside the vault.

And second thing I'm wondering is list of points and times where you can theoretically find something valuable in wastelands. Do you know about it or can provide hints for how long it is valuable to run through a desert?

Semes that every stat counts in the wasteland.

Essentially, in the wasteland there are a series of events at fixed or random times, and every event requires either a stat or a weapon check. The better the weapon or higher the stat, the better the chance to succeed on the event, still, values are not exactly known.

I think they do affect I've read and seen this:

Charisma- Interaction with slaves

Inteligence- speaks about finding weak points

Perception- Its like opening vaults and doors I think

Agility seems to make hp drop lower. I'm assuming they dodge dmg with high agi. I cannot confirm this tho.

As for quality of loot, there are 2 schools of thought:

1) exploring longer yields better loot.

2) sending out more explorers but explore shorter time increase your chance at better loot

I'm using a combination of both.

Strength: Damage done with weapons

Perception: Finding weak spot of eneies (mirelurk face etc.) i've read that perception affects finding loot in NGD too. (not confirmed)

Endurance: The higher the endurance, the less radiation damage explorer takes and survives longer in wasteland.

Charisma: Interaction with NPCs (Talon Company mercs, slaves, trader etc).

Inteligence: Ability to heal wounded sheriff, fugitive slave, ability to repair damaged mr.Handy at 75th hour of exploring.

Agility: Fighting some fast enemies, maybe lowers damage taken.

Luck: Chance of finding loot (i don't know if it affects quality, but it definitely affects quantity).

All of them affects more things and when encounter triggers, dweller either pass or fail ability check and therefore gets diffirent results. Altough all 10 SPECIAL does not guarantee legendary from NGD and not even rares. I have currently dweller with all 10 and fancy formal wear (luck +7) outside and he has only some rares. Also dwellers have higher chance of finding better loot the more time they explore. When i am lucky, i get some rare the first day but after few hours of the second day, some rare is almost guaranteed.

Here is some great work of gentleman TunderProsum where you can find all observed events, chances of rewards, chance of loot based on time in wasteland etc.
