[WIP] Wastewolf Outfit

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 1:34 am

I am currently working on a new outfit, which I consider a large improvement upon my last http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=44905 mod.

The outfit itself is mostly done, as you can see. Aside from yet another strange inability to properly export it. I'd like to make a few more changes anyway, like removing the belt and some of the satchels, and un-tucking the shirt.

In addition to that outfit, I'll be including a new "wig" and bandage-type eyepatch.
The hair is actually finished already, as you can see http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/Shadow_Dragyn/WastewolfHair.png.

--Credits--
The jacket used was originally created by Geonox, found in his Riot Armor.
The harness was originally created by Redline_C64, found in the Jill BSAA outfit.
The shirt, shoes and pants were originally created by Fizz99, found in the TS Outfit (Permission pending).
The bead necklace was originally created by Exeter, found in the Neck Seam Concealer Chains mod.
The hair was created by NewSea for The Sims, converted to Oblivion Hair format by Room207, and converted to an Oblivian Wig format by Apachii for use in Apachii Wigs.

I've pretty much finished making the alterations to the main outfit now. I just need to make a couple minor texture tweaks and figure out how to export it from Blender.
If anyone knows their way around Blender, I've posted the details of my issue http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1331912-problems-exporting-a-modified-armor-mesh/, as well as a copy of my .blend file.

Ah, I thought I recognised the hair as I have it for TS3, though it looks better on your character than on my Sims, though :)

The armor looks pretty cool. I already use your Courier Armor and love that :D
Would it be for both bodies like the other one? I use Roberts.

I can't help with Blender, the Nexus mod author forums seem more active than here you may have better luck finding help there.

I've found an eyepatch mod someone else had already made which is nearly identical to what I had intended, needing only some texture changes and minor mesh alterations. This means that the mod is nearly done, aside from this issue I'm having getting http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/532740-exporting-clothes-from-blender/page__gopid__4342753#entry4342753

-Edit- I've gotten the outfit to export properly, finally, and it's working in-game. All I have to do now is tweak the weights and adjust the UV a little and the main outfit will be done.

Here's an image of the new outfit in-game. It's getting incredibly close to finished, and then I just need to work on the eyepatch, and potentially icons.

I've acquired the idea and the resources for a second outfit that truly blows the other out of the water, and for me single-handedly redeems the entire massive unbalanced ratio of male to female outfit mods out there. Because this one outfit is causing me to lose all desire to use anything else on a male character, ever
I'll release a screenshot of it as soon as I get it in-game, but it still needs a bit of work, both with the mesh and the texture. I just don't think an image from Blender will give it the justice it deserves.
I can't give a hard deadline, but at my current pace I'd expect an in-game screenshot within the next week or two.
Currently I have to finish shaping the jacket to fit more smoothly, add the pants which will require a bit of UV alteration and a new texture, then weight it all.

Because of this though, obviously the release of this mod has been set back. Be assured though that the first outfit I've shown is practically done, so if any heavy delays come up I may simply decide to release the hair and first outfit, then add the second outfit and eyepatch later.

One other thing. I've looked the two main male body mods over carefully, and despite being significantly more tedious to install, Robert's has far superior overall quality to Breeze's, so I'll be supporting only Robert's body for these outfits.
Does anyone know why Robert's even needs an ESP? That really confuses me.

In FOMM the description when I select the esp says:

This plugin contains the following modifications:

- Ghoul Body Data.
- Raider Body Data.
- New Clothes @ GoodSprings GS

One other thing. I've looked the two main male body mods over carefully, and despite being significantly more tedious to install, Robert's has far superior overall quality to Breeze's, so I'll be supporting only Robert's body for these outfits.
Does anyone know why Robert's even needs an ESP? That really confuses me.
That's why I prefer it. The textures look better quality, or something, in my game and I'm only on low settings. Plus, I only used to use Breeze's for the, you know, 'other' mesh that is handy for AP, but Slof did one for Roberts so that's great :)

I'm back to playing FNV for a while, from TS3, so will hold off finishing my current playthrough until release. Looking forward to it :goodjob:

Woo! :D
I just got permission to use the resources for this second outfit, which really had me on edge, and I've finished reshaping it. So it's on to adding and texturing the pants.
Everything is on track for the deadline I posted so far, so you should still be able to expect an in-game shot in less than a week or two.

I have a little good news, and a little bad news.

First, the good news is that with the second outfit I've been working on I've decided to go with the outfit's original pants instead of adding new ones. So rather than going through all the effort of changing the UV and making a new texture, all I've had to do is reshape it like I did with the jacket, which I've mostly finished already. This means that I'll have it in-game even faster than I had originally thought. Currently I'm actually a couple days ahead of schedule.

Second, the bad news is that I'll not likely be able to release that first outfit seen in the OP. Fizz was the only one I hadn't gotten permission from before actually starting work on it, and I really didn't think I'd have any trouble getting that permission. But he still hasn't responded to my request, even after having read my message a few days ago, which is pretty much the same as a no. At the same time, the quality is so much less than this second outfit that it would kind of detract from the overall image of the mod, and being an earlier piece I also shaped it to Breeze's body rather than Robert's which would take a fair amount of time and effort to change.
If Fizz does eventually give me permission I'll likely release it as a standalone outfit for Breeze's body, seperate from this mod with the hair, eyepatch and second outfit.

Awesome news. I got the new outfit in-game way ahead of the time I expected.

It's nearly finished, I just need to tweak the weighting in a couple of areas. The long portion of the jacket has been real hell in regards to clipping, but I've gotten it down to only a couple small areas.

The outfit was originally a complete work by ActionCookie, found in the DMC4 Nero outfit for Oblivion.

-Edit- Outfit is done! Now it's time to finally start work on the eyepatch.

-Edit- The eyepatch is done. I'm getting desperately close to release, I should just need to make the icons.
