I just updated my iPad Air 2 and totally locked up the thing. Just had a white screen and it refused to restore or even go back to factory settings. Eventually managed to get it to return to factory settings and I realised that the time and money I had put into Fallout Shelter had been lost because it doesn't save to iCloud. Nice design flaw there Bethesda (or so I thought).

So yeah... there I was, totally peed off, especially as I had gotten all my dwellers in outfits specifically for their function (even though it boosted wrong stats in some cases)... like having rad suits for all my power station guys, red overalls for the food guys, lab coats for the stimpack, radaway and schools etc.... all that work for nothing... and my purchased lunchpacks gone too (yeah... silly me).

So I sat here and ranted as the iPad finished downloading Fallout Shelter again....

AND THEN I FIND THAT IT HAD BEEN BACKED UP AND EVERYTHING WAS STILL THERE AFTER THE IPAD RESTORED ITSELF!!!!!!! Even after a factory reset. One work.... GOBSMACKED!

To say it was a lovely surprise is an understatement... and then when I enter the vault it goes immediately to a shot of someone getting conceived and totally random event happened as going past the camera is another pregnant lady with a young boy who is saying "You are the loveliest person I know"... almost brought a tear to my eye.

So thank you Bethesda for getting it right, even when things go wrong!

I know a lot of it is Apple backup but having it work right so that you don't lose your purchases is just how it SHOULD work, and yet often doesn't.
