Water Ripples in Skyrim .

Post » Mon Aug 22, 2011 11:35 am

They could just use the Oblivion animation , like they obviously did with the ripple animation "Sigh" :shakehead: They still have more than 100 days to polish the animations though , keep your fingers crossed ....

Skyrim releases in less than 100 days. I think it's 96, and we can probably cut another 30 off for bug testing, manufacturing and shipping.

Ouch, that's a little bad.

Might not be a very big deal though. However, people fail to realize, it seems, that if Bethesda can't even do normally good water ripples for today, then can't be sure what they can do. Then again, not much of Skyrim's visuals are very impressive technically either, so it makes sense.

The water in Skyrim looks beautiful and the water physics look amazing , but the water ripples look fairly outdated visually , they look identical to those of Oblivion .That's probably why Todd didn't want to go into the water .....

I like the ripples, they are nice looking. My opinion is finished.

Why do people hate the ripples? I don't understand. Were you expecting water physics, or something (don't think it's actually been implemented into video games, yet)?

Well, I'm a graphics taliban, and water ripples looked decent to me...I expected them to be much worse.

The water ripples are fine, jeez....sometimes we just do nothing but complain. I saw the video too and i LOVED it. I can't wait to go exploring in that world, and i am not worried about the game being too bright anymore, as soon as he entered that cave, things looked fine, just amazing stuff. I'm gonna do my best to stay away from any other videos till the game comes out...i'm very impressed. I like how enemies DO stagger backwards when you hit them, they at least give some kind of reaction to being hit.

But i do wonder about something...all of those weapons and magic seemed to be in the same row as eachother, so you just cycle through everything until you get to items, weapons, magic etc?

 I think they've officially run out of ideas.

I personally thought they looked awesome, but then I guess I'm not looking for things to complain about so...

The water ripples looked fine to me. And we only got half a second to look at them; how exactly can you judge based on that? Stop expecting an open world game on a 360 to be like Crysis.

I thought the ripples looked fantastic!

That was one of the parts of the demo I liked the most.

Same, Some people just don't know how hard it is to make a game with Good graphics, Bethesda put alot of hard work into Skyrim, and many people here are Ungrateful
