Waterfalls are frozen

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:55 am

Hi

All the waterfalls in my game are no longer working properly. All the water is totally static or frozen so it looks rubbish. I think this applies to all falls whether vanilla or added by mods such as Unique Landscapes. I think all the other game animations are working properly. I have also tried using the animation fix program but it made no difference. Can someone suggest why the water is stuck and possible ways of correcting the situation? Thanks a lot if you can help.

If you use "Really Textured Normal Maps for Vanilla" go to nexus page and read

Can't help you, sorry :/

But I have a question to you though. How does it look when the animation is static? I mean... is it 100% static all the time, never moves... or does it kind of "hack", as in is static like every three seconds.
I've experienced a "hacking" thing kind of with waterfall animations. They suddenly stop animating once like every 3-7 seconds.

If I'm not mistaken simply deleting the animations for the waterfalls should revert it back to the vanilla BSA's animations, don't quote me on it and keep the animations somewhere outside the folder just in case it doesn't fix it. Otherwise I am not sure what it going on =/

Thanks for the comments. The waterfalls are totally 100% stuck, no stuttering animations. Actually I did install Really textured normals recently so I will look into that.

Yep right there in the description on the Nexus page for Really textured normals....
Yet Another New Version!
1.1 Regenerated the mipmaps down to 32x32 and removed waterfall normals so they should be animated again, if you installed a previous version you'll have to manually remove landscapewater_N.dds, landscapewaterfoam_N.dds, landscapewaterparticles01_N.dds and landscapewaterparticles02_N.dds
from your Oblivon\Data\Textures\Landscape\ directory.
A great big thanks to Selene310187 for pointing that out to me.

Hope that helps...looks like even if you get a new version you would have to find those files and Delete.

I think I read too many threads here because I knew the problem was due to those normal maps immediately upon seeing the title to this thread, and I don't even use those normals (I use QTP3). I need to ignore threads for things I don't use!! :teehee:
