My Waterfront Shack is driving me mad!

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 3:58 am

Dear reader, thank you for clicking my topic. Now I understand why My Imperial City Waterfront Shack was so cheap. Inside, there is a stone pitcher laying on its side right in front of the chest. It seems that I have picked up the pitcher dozens of times to set it back in the corner. I've given up now because I know that it will, by whatever god or prince I've offended, return to its side right in front of the chest the next time I swing by to stuff the chest with more perfect gems. Is there anything I can do about this, other than disable the stone pitcher? The ideal situation is that I can place the pitcher upright in the corner and have it stay there. What will happen if I decorate the shack with some of the fine gold decorations in my inventory from OOO 1.33?

If you can't help me, thanks anyway. And do recommend a nice mental treatment center I could visit.

If you knock over an item that comes with the house, it will often respawn to its original location. Rather, try placing the item in your inventory, THEN drop it again and place it. It should then stay where you put it. The food on the table will always respawn where it came from though, even if you eat it.

I think what you need to do is take the picture so it moves into your inventory. Then if you drop it in the corner it should stay there.

Ah, thank you. Hallelujah, and praise Jesus for all your help! In fact, praise the devil if you prefer. Finally, that stone pitcher will stay where it belongs and I can continue hoarding perfect gems without tripping over the blasted thing. You must already know how it gets inside your head since you know the solution. Get in that corner and stay right there! It must be Sheogorath doing that, because I went to the Shivering Isles door portal and left after hearing the message.

"!Buy Rosethorn Hall instead!"

But it's in Skingrad and it will eat up all the money I need to enchant my gear! My character is cursed with something called Charioteer, which gives 50% weakness to shock and another strong weakness to frost to trade for a lousy 5% resistance to normal weapons. I think it's Race Balancing Project that is doing it. Morrow-ver, buying the furnishings will demand more gold. Is there a specific reason to live in Rosethorn Hall, which is outside the Imperial City?

It's the largest home you can purchase. Also the most expensive... if you were to buy all the amenities and upgrades, including the original purchase should cost about 40 to 50K depending on your mercantile skill. It also has display cases, dramatic amounts of storage and lots of light.

I never seem to accumulate enough money to buy those other places. I use FrostCrag a lot for my magey characters. I've started in ownership of the Bruma house using TuStartingOptions, but have NEVER bought any house except the shack. God that place is a dump. But cozy.

You cannot imagine how long I've been suffering with this SPDS - Stone Pitcher Dislocation Syndrome. Every time I go into the shack, the pitcher is not where it should be. It is never where it should be. Never! I've picked it up and put it in the right place literally HUNDREDS of times, and it never stays there!!

It never occurred to me that if I'd put it in my inventory and then dropped it, it would stay where I'd put it. I feel relieved. I feel cured. All these years suffering from SPDS and now I'm cured... it almost brings a tear to my eye. Thank you, kind soul!!! Thank you a thousand times!!!! :)

You're most welcome. :foodndrink:

Heh. At first I would take that pitcher and get rid of it and get another one. That solves it too. Then some kind soul enlightened me that all I had to do was briefly stick it in my inverntory. Sort of like one of those "Oh gee, I have to scroll down to get the topic that will advance this quest?' moments.
