Way of checking weapon status?

do weapons break in DF?

how do I check how close they are to breaking?

is it normal to have such a delay when I get to a town and read "you collapse for nearly an hour" sometimes the sign will stay for 2 minuites, it seems like the game has crashed.

clicking INFO and then on the weapon will give the condition in addition to the damage, etc.

As for the exhaustion... yea, that sometimes happens. I've never been clear on what the cause was.

New > almost new > ? > worn > ? > battered > ? > broken (unusable)
? designates 0 or more levels I can't remember.

Anything less than New can be taken to a smithy to be repaired.

But you can't repair magical weapons, but that's alright because you can find them cheaply if they have crap enchantments.
